There have been more than enough posts on Cal Guns about the over pricing of firearms from the sellers, but mostly its just a bunch of whinning from the buyers. Lets remove all the big words like Capitalism, Supply and Demand. For whatever reason an off-roster firearm is now in Cal and the owner wants to place it up for sale. Taking in to account, theres new and used pricing value, where is the line drawn between a reasonable price and what buyers consider GOUGING? Its my belief, that alot of buyers think they have the right to purchase said new firearm for what it actually sells for from an online gun company thats out of state. Many buyers dont think that there might be costs incurred if said firearm was brought in to Cal by the seller. If the firearm is an actual NIB, 100-300$ over I dont consider to be GOUGING. Its brand new, you cant purchase in a Cal store anymore, you cant purchase outside of Cal because you dont have a residence anywhere else, So Whats The Problem!!! If its used, yea, I can see where you have a little more bargaining power. X number of rounds have gone thru it, and how well has it been maintained. Now to the buyers credit, I have seen some firearms like the HK VP9 selling used for 1200$ or new for 1500$, to me, that is OUTRAGEOUS, since I just returned home from an outta state gun show where the HK VP9 was selling for 650$. Without using those big ugly words I posted in the beginning, it really comes down to CONSIDERATION. We are all gun owners, or would at least like to be, for those just starting out. The seller has it, the buyer wants it, Lets Be Fair, thats really all its about.
