I was just at the Walmart off the 78 in Oceanside. They had about 20 boxes of 9mm. 100 rounds per box and $19.?? per box.

I happened to be in Walmart today with my daughter. I was not shopping for ammo and I did not purchase any, I just wanted to let my fellow calgunner's know what I found. It seems like some of you are having a difficult time finding ammunition so I went out of my way to let the board members know what was there. Had I known I was doing you all a dis-service by passing on this information, I would not have done so. I was not expecting huge thanks, but I was not expecting to get my *** chewed either. You really know how to make a new guy to the board feel welcome. Ken

Kearney Mesa had probably 30+ boxes of Winchester Super X Rifled Slugs (X12RS15) for $3.17 per box of 5

I jumped when I saw your post.. looking for 12ga slugs.
None left by 5PM, though.

BUT, they had Federal 12ga 1oz rifled slugs for not much more.. $7.50/10pc.

I left one or two boxes there.

Also, they've raised the box limit from 4 to 6 (as per corp memo), but they're applying it to anything, not just handgun. Fair 'nuff.

The guy running the SG dept is cool enough.. spends all day giving people the bad news. Dunno how he stays upbeat.

The majority of us appreciate the updates. Again, as stated above, it does save time/gas. With that, WM near College/78 Oceanside had some .22, and one box of 9mm along with the usual shotgun shells.

This morning I went to Aero Drive and the Clairemont locations.

Clairemont had a rare find! About 20 boxes of the 100rd packs of 9mm. I purchased the daily limit of 6. But it stings to pay 19.97 a box when I clearly remember paying 10.97, then 11.07, then 13.97 now 19.97....WTF!!!!

Then I went to Aero and they had 5 boxes of the 50rd packs of 9mm. So a total of 850 rounds in about 30mins. It was a good day.

I'm putting myself on 9mm ammo restriction for a while. I think if my wife realized how much ammo I've bought into the house in the last few days I might have some explaining to do.

I need .45 but I haven't seen any of that in a while!!!

Yea, I got up to about 1,200 rounds of 9mm before I realized it, so no more for a while.


As for the .45, I lucked out one day I guess and found two boxes of the stuff in Kearny Mesa Wal Mart, haven't seen it since. So I ordered some from Cabelas, on back order till the middle of July

They have a lot of .45 at Discount Gun Mart if you feel like paying full price for a box. I think it was $25 a box

just back from Wally - Aero Dr. I was able to pick up a couple of boxes of both 9mm and .45 auto and there was still some left of each caliber.
