    Wal Mart Ammunition-San Diego

Anyone else notice that Wal Mart's handgun ammunition inventories are getting low?

You used to be able to go in there and find the cage full of 9mm, .40, .45 etc in the 100 rnd value packs. Now the Santee and Mission Valley Wal Marts are down to 50 rnd boxes of JHPs and a few scattered boxes of FMJ. The only value packs left are for .40. I check their stock every time I stop in for any little thing, they're not re-stocking.

Anyone know what's up? Is Wal Mart halting handgun ammunition sales? Is this the beginning of what we've all known has been coming...Obama?

theres a large number of threads recently about this, the fact is walmart is often slow to restock their shelves and with the ammo industry severely overtaxed thanks to everyone hoarding ammo its even harder to get ammo from them.

and when walmart restocks a cal its instantly bought up since they dont tend to order that many boxes.

The problem is people like me that are hoarding ammo. I call the store over by the 805 just about once a week looking for ammo, and when they have it, I send the wife over or I go to pick it up. LOL.

The Santee store does seem to lag in the restocking dept. After watching a documentary type thing months ago on how walmart is all streamlined in their restocking technologies it does seem odd that the ammo is the one thing that falls way short on the priority list.

If they kept their shelves well-stocked, people wouldn't be in a panic to buy it...buyer panic is always good for business.

No, I am talking about the one in Chula Juana, the one on Palm Ave off of the 805. I have some other buddies that buy from the same store, if I call and they have 9mm/.223 and .45 in stock, I call them and we go empty the place.

Not sure if some of the ranges are going to Wall Mart to buy ammo because I have seen the same value packs for sale at some ranges and they are asking like $20 more for each box. Now that right there is bull ****.

I have been getting walmart ammo for a while, then, all of the sudden, i went their last week to buy .22lrs and 9mms, and there was NOTHING on the shelves. I bought all they're bulk .22lrs, they were kind of expensive too. (they were completely out of the federal bulks) and all their .22lr shotshells. We bought every case of 9mm too, they only had 13 boxes of 50 rnds. it was a shame b/c i went there with the plan to buy 10 boxes of the 550 federal bulks. walmart has officially let me down. now my feelings are hurt, and i don't even know what to do with myself...

Yup.. shelves were stripped bare at the Aero drive Wal-mart last time I was there. Most of the 9mm and .45 was all gone. I got some Winchester .45 FMJs when I was there, but it was 185 grain stuff.. should be fine for range fun.

Interestingly enough, there was still A LOT of .40 s&w left lol

The Santee and Aero Dr. Wal Marts still have plenty of .40 S&W, FMJ, 100-rnd value packs. Their value packs of 9mm and .45 ACP are long gone.

I bought the last 9mm value pack from the Clairemont Mesa Blvd Wal Mart. Slim pickings...
