Rock Island M206

I've been doing a lot of research into the Rock Island M206 and was wondering if any of you guys have any first hand experience with it. Really just interested in this wheel gun and not any other one.

I bought one of those from turners about 5 months ago and love it. I've always liked that style with wooden grips so I couldn't pass up a deal when they had it on sale for $229. Im no expert when I comes to shooting like some of the guys on here but if you want something inexpensive, reliable and with a good trigger I would definitely recommend it. It also came with some black rubber grips which was pretty cool.

Had and sold one years ago. It was a solid Detective Special clone. The parked finish was crude, but for the price I wasn't expecting a high gloss blue. I was going through a snubby phase at the time, but wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.

For about $50 more, you can get a Taurus or Rossi 357 snubbie.

For about $250, just buy it. It's no beauty queen and will probably have some tooling marks. Tough as nails though. Had to send mine for warranty repair. One of the chambers would not consistently fully lock during a very slow hammer or trigger pull. RIA took care of it and paid shipping both ways.

As a former Taurus owner, I strongly recommend the OP stick with his original plan.

Sorry, I do not. They tend to be very hit and miss in availability.

For not much more, you could get into a much higher quality Smith & Wesson. Another alternative would be a Charter Arms.

I have the armscor version, been a great little gun. Canner to me on trade for something or the other, kept out around as a toolbox/ truck gun. Decent little shooter, only thing I don't like is the double action pull is a tad heavy.

ETA: mine is actually the"hammerless" version.

I'm sure there are a few bad Taurus revolver's out there but I've looked into the M206 and have seen a lot of complaints about cylinder lockup and timing issues. I know RIA makes decent 1911's but not so with revolvers. Taurus isn't great but they do have a longer history of making okay revolvers and they have good customer service. I'd much rather get a blued Taurus 605 which will shoot 357's.

Even after warranty repair??? No I didn't watch the video, too many other things going on.
