I didn't even see that guys post. I'm not here to pad peoples inflated, fragile egos. If one wants to see a Glock vs 1911 go read forums, go watch youtube videos. Go watch Iraqveterans8888 Glock meltdown video, Go run your production 1911 dirty without a cleaning or any new oil for 4500 rounds and over two months. It won't do it, my Glock 19 did. The information is already out there.
I own Glock because they work, and they're simple. That's it, and all the evidence along with my personal experience supports that.
Try not investing your ego into the guns you purchase, especially when they're over 100 years old. I have no reason to own anything else, I don't collect firearms.
I chose Glock as my one and only firearm, and yes I think gun collecting is stupid.(literally sold all my other firearms) I'm a minimalist in general, I think car collecting is stupid too. I don't have more than I need. At the end of the day, it's just my opinion. Not my problem if people get their pannies in a bunch over it. If you don't want to see other peoples opinions, then don't come on to a public forum.Last edited by Germ1; 06-01-2016, 12:16 AM.Comment

I'm going to give some pointers you didn't ask for.
When shooting 1 handed, place your support hand on your sternum.
Remember these mantras: nose over toes, or chin forward of the knees. Your weight should be on the balls of your feet.
A 2/3rds IPSC target is kinda big for slow fire at 25 yards. It has about a 230" surface area. By comparison, the black of a B8 has 24" surface area and an 8" plate has 50". Move it out to 50 yards or use a timer. Since it doesn't look like you have a holster, at 50 yards give yourself 2 seconds from ready gun.
I really like knowing exactly how far I am from the target. For indoor use I have a Bosch laser measure. They're about $70. For outdoor use, get a 100 yard tape measure for $25 from Home Depot. Naturally these would only really be good for pistol distances.Last edited by HopetonBrown; 06-01-2016, 2:37 AM.Comment

Shooting support is an important skill to master. It's no different than shooting weapons hand. The thing I notice the most why people have problems shooting support is they try to use their dominant eye and cant their head to align the sights. Either use your non dominant eye or move the gun more towards your dominant eye. Another problem is they tend not to look at the target and not concentrate on the front sight. For punching paper shooting support/ manipulations hand doesn't make a difference, but in a CCW/HD/LEO/MIL scenario it could mean the difference between life and death. Can DI AR's run dirty?

FIFYI'm still recovering from surgery so I've been forced to shoot weak hand lately. I'm not very practiced with my weak hand shooting. It's something I've always neglected. Like I said I've been forced for the last few weekends to shoot weak hand, and honestly I'm glad that I have. When I first started shooting weak hand I couldn't even hit that child sized silhouette at that range.
No dry fire.
I shot better on that target later in the day, If I remember it was 7/10 hits. Target is at 25-30yards, don't know exactly.
Sorry, not sorry.

Dear autocorrect, I'm really getting tired of your shirt!Comment

Cool, thanks. Appreciate the tips, I was going to buy a JM custom but I ended up spending my money on something else. I looked at timers and they're too expensive, I downloaded an app. But never use it because I don't have a holster that will fit with my tlr-1.I'm going to give some pointers you didn't ask for.

Why only one? That's more stupid than having multiple guns. How are you going to defend yourself against rifles? Yeah, lol. You can see me holding the gun nearly sideways because I'm trying to pull it to my dominant eye. I have to straighten it back out in the video. I shoot both eyes open, but the gun still comes up to my dominant eye.Shooting support is an important skill to master. It's no different than shooting weapons hand. If some one comes onto my property I'm going to kill them with a pistol. Unless it's a navy seal or hopetownbrown who comes. Especially with my strong hand supported. I shoot regularly, every weekend and I'm very confident.(14,000 through my Glock since last October) I don't need a rifle, I had a rifle and sold it. If I were to buy a second firearm it would be a pumpgun. Do you know the actual statistics of crimes committed with a rifle? It's very low.Last edited by Germ1; 06-01-2016, 9:23 AM.Comment

Why wouldn't you want to tilt the odds in your favor as far as possible? All handgun calibers are generally poor man-stoppers.If some one comes onto my property I'm going to kill them with a pistol. Rifles are much easier to fire accurately and quickly under stress, and are far more devastating to targets when they do hit.Comment
