    Yet another Glock goes Kaboom

Oh wait. It was a 1911.

My friend Greg sent this to me.His friend had a Nighthawk 1911 chambered in 10mm.He said it was the most accurate handgun he has ever shot.

Lmfao what? The brakes on my Harley failed and I crashed into a dirt embankment. Luckily do to the build quality of the bike and Harley craftsmanship I was unharmed.

"When I saw these pictures the first thought in my mind was “Is the shooter ok?”. Greg assuaged my concerns and told me his friend received no harm from this accident. I think that is something remarkable about this Nighthawk 1911. It received this much damage from the 10mm round but the shooter was ok. Not sure if it was luck or due to the high quality that Nighthawk is known for. Unfortunately the shooter was unable to find any remnants of the round that detonated"

Wow. Glad the shooter wasn't injured...pretty awesome that NH is building him another one instead of pointing fingers at ammo or something else.

EDIT: Looks like NH investigated and it was due to a squib. Read the comments, the squib didn't actually cause that damage the way it's shown. They pried the gun apart.

Just to make NH's findings easier to see.

Man, it's heartbreaking to see that kind of stuff, 10mm is not a round you want to be loading and lose focus on the task at hand.
Actually, no round is conducive to an unfocussed reloader.

Glad to hear all is well with the shooter.

                  Glad the shooter is ok.

That's not a kaboom. It's a custom slide, designed to widen the sight picture.

Fortunately the owner never put an "idiot-scratch" on his NH 1911, so it still retained 99.8% of its original value.

If Jesse James (of West Coast Chopper and Sandra Bullock fame) pried it apart, it would be worth another $3,000 to $5000.

The gun returned beaten and mangled.

                        Squib from Armscor?
No brass was included because they could prove it was reloaded ammo.

A gunsmith did that. Seriously. I am not kidding.

NHC is replacing it, but the gunsmith split and pried the gun to get the squib out. No joke.

Good thing it wasn't a Glock it could have been catastrophic.
