I had one. Very nicely made. I trade it for a walk because I like Striker Fired better

The gun is accurate as much as you are. Most handguns these days $400 and above are plenty accurate more accurate than most people are capable of shooting. The trigger isn't the best but it's not bad. I like that you can decock and run cocked and locked. Polymer frame and trigger so it kicks a little more than some other pistols. Also big grip for what it is. I think they're severely over priced new would rather get alnib for $800ish. Magazines are obscenely expensive too. All I can think of off the top of my head.

This is my first handgun and I love it. They are well made, very accurate from any distance and very reliable. I have over 4k through mine. The only complaints I have is that parts are pricey and the decocker does need some getting used to.

Shot my buddies... good gun, but I prefer striker fire so went with Glock and VP9 instead.

I forgot about the proprietary rail. It's still there and it's still annoying.

Try it first before you buy. Some of my shooting companions hated my USP.

I saw a used one for $499 at a LGS near me, I don't own any H&K's and would like to eventually.
What should I look for? Aren't there different variants, like V1 and V2?
Anything specifically to look out for?

And I believe it was the first firearm designed specifically for 40 cal . I wish they made itnor a conversion for 10mm .

That would be the S&W 4006, although I believe the USP beat it to market.

A 10mm conversion would be amazing!

After reading up on it their is a way to convert to 10mm with a mag ,barrel and spring swap . I'm looking into getting this done . To keep up with my Glock 20 Long slide . Learn something new every day .

Double action trigger pull is long. Like the trigger feels really far from the frame. Bore axis also feels high compared to say, glock. I didn't like the grip until I put a hogue rubber grip on it. It's snappy but a glock 23 is snappier. Also: proprietary rail (need adapter for picatinny/1913 accessories). Oh: "paddle" mag release (lever not button per se).

That said, once you get use to the trigger it's very accurate.

Very nice pistol, by far the softest shooting .40 I've ever shot.
