    Replacing Glock 26 with 29

Would you think that a Glock 29 would be a good replacement for a Glock 26?
I would like to use it for camping and the likes, HD, eventually ccw.
    What do youse think?

Rent one and you'll have the only opinion that matters - yours. If you ccw, it will make a difference. I rarely carry a G30, but keep one in the car safe. I winter carry a G26, summer is a Shield. If you don't CCW, get a G20.

          I don't know if I'd replace, maybe add a full sized 10mm.

For camping purpose G29 should be good to go. However, not too sure about daily CC purpose. I rather stick with G43, G42, G26 or Shield for daily CC than G29.

              In place of? No way.

In Addition to? Without a doubt, yes.

The 29 is about the size of a 19. If you're ok with that, then go for it. If you're thinking it's just a more powerful 26, not quite.

You can get some full power 10mm for woods carry and then for urban carry theres standard off the shelf that aint what the 10mm use to be but a tad more punch than a .40.

^ Agree. Ammo goes from mild to wild. All will get the job done. But I'd rather stick with what you got and just get a 20sf for real fun.

The short barrel negates a lot of the velocity gain you should get from a 10mm. I love my G30 and would go that route.

10mm is cost prohibitive to practice with. Everyone will shoot 9mm or 45 Auto better than 10mm.

Yes the 10mm can be too much for hd but like i said most out there is just a tad more than a .40

I still prefer my .45 for HD and target shooting and just have the glock 20 for a camp gun to me this is best of both worlds but if it were a one choice handgun the 29 would be hard to beat its compact, reliable, and a good choice of ammo selection from mild to wild.

As for ammo cost it is just a tad more to reload than my .45 usually just a few bucks at most.(uses more powder) but bullets cost less. Now buying off the shelf yes its more.

29 and 26 are different animals. I own both. The 29 is my go to backpacking / camping gun (bought for that purpose), but IMO is not an ideal CCW gun. As already pointed out, it is about the same size as the 19, except thicker.

If you think that's fine, well go for it then. I'd definitely pick it up for camping though.
