I just picked up my Sig P290 RS on Saturday and found that the previous owner didn't include the takedown tool.

So, I called Sig this morning with CC in hand and the rep said no problem let me grab one and I'll get it in the mail to you today at NO cost.

So all it took was a 4 minute call to get a takedown tool.

glad you had a good experience, ive had the opposite - still waiting for some mags from their 2014 rebate and they just charged me 55 for shipping when i had a roll pin break on a 227. ive also heard they no longer support the x5/210 line either
