A valid question that i have not found an answer for.
This is my understanding as well. The feed ramp has been the only significant change in the 97 that i have seen discussed in general. With the feed ramp remedied the rest should be cosmetic (sights, grips).
OP If you want a more definitive answer you might call CZ USA and ask them.Last edited by Tok36; 05-08-2016, 4:01 PM.Vive La Exile Machine!!

Totally irrelevant, since your scenario presupposes owning the gun in CA, then "puitting aluminum grips on it." Once legally owned in CA, the roster no longer applies.Comment

Thats wierd. the 97 i just got has aluminum grips and fiber front sight.Comment

This discussion popped up many times and to quickly answer your question, the SKUs don't matter (at least on CZ), but the model, color, barrel length, and caliber matter.
How do I know this? I had my FFL DROS a CZ RAMI last year that did not have the same SKU (this was the decocker RAMI as opposed to the safety one), and my FFL explained to me that when submitting the information to the DOJ, there isn't even a place for the SKU. However, the other information has to match. I was about to do the same for a CZ 97b with a different SKU except I found the 97b at my LGS and went there.
Now, not every FFL will go ahead and proceed this way, so you really do have to ask your FFL if he's willing to do it. Mine did, but he's pretty sharp with rules and laws.Comment

On the DROS system CZ SKUs were not listed. About 6 months ago the CA DOJ added SKUs to the CZ lineup. This discussion popped up many times and to quickly answer your question, the SKUs don't matter (at least on CZ), but the model, color, barrel length, and caliber matter.

Dangit, well good for me, but sucks for everyone else. Nice to know the DOJ decided to make things even harder. On the DROS system CZ SKUs were not listed. About 6 months ago the CA DOJ added SKUs to the CZ lineup.

Only those models submitted for testing/approval prior to the cut-off date for required micro-stamping can be on the roster. Either the 1411 wasn't around yet at that time, or simply wasn't submitted for testing. Either way, it's a no-go now unless you're roster exempt.Originally posted by TheHillsHaveEyesSo why is SKU 1401 on Roster and not the 1411. The descriptions are almost the same except the grips and front sight.
What other difference is there?sigpicComment
