    Dros question, ship while waiting?

Can you start paper work at one FFL and have the firearm shipped wile waiting so you can pick it up somewhere else? I'd like to pick-up an off-roster firearm in SoCal, and have it shipped to a local FFL in NorCal. That possible?

    Nope, no can do.

Where ever you start the DROS process is where you have to pick up the gun.

    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

However, if the receiving California FFL is comfortable the sending FFL will accurately convey the guns vitals, there is no rule that prohibits starting the DROS before the gun arrives.

That was a confusingly worded question.

But yes, many times I've started the DROS prior to guns arrival. It seems to be the LGS decision as some won't in case of SN errors or some other error - but I have enough history with my shop they do it. Just got to get the details from sending FFL.

going through something similar too, from my little understanding of Kalifornia BS laws, looks like you can't escape the 2 trips to Socal.. Go figure, that is an additional $$$ & time on the initial price of the firearm.

FYI, Ammo Bros in Ontario is 10 minutes from Ontario Airport. Southwest sometimes has some great fares to Ontario. Adds more to the cost of the gun, but if it is something you can't find up
North, it might be worth it. Also, "The Hat" at Victoria Gardens has amazing pastrami. You'd need a few uber rides to get around. Make it an adventure.

That would require the pistol be on the roster for that transaction. I'm guessing that would not work for OP.

Yup, I got a seller from the Fresno area to meet me in Bakersfield. I live in Ontario and will have to make two trips to Bakersfield but you have to do what you have to do sometimes.

Yes you can start the DROS before it is shipped provided the serial number is known. You still need to make 2 trips to the receiving FFL- 1st to sign the form which starts the 10 day clock and 2nd to pick up the gun. Not sure if all FFLs will do this but mine did from suppliers they dealt with regularly.
