I personally preferred striker over hammer, even after converting my HK45 to light LEM. So I sold it for an M&P 45 and have not looked back. Cheaper magazines was also great

Recently, I bought some striker fired pistols and I like them for their simplicity.

We all need more daughter like yours.

I carry the HK45 in LEM. It's OK ... not like my ol' Springfield Pro.

The V1 is OK in most applications. The double action is long and you need to have strong fingers if you shoot it in this mode for an extended period (such as a multi-day shooting course).

Still, you should shoot the pistol first before spending the time and energy converting it to something you may not really need or want.

The recoil systems is different from the USP - it's more simplistic with a plastic buffer rather than the dual spring recoil assembly like the USP.

Basically, you bought a modern German gun that is designed for military hard use and requires little to no maintenance to keep running.

Still, with that said, I like my Springfield Professional (early edition Nowlin barrel) much better. I shoot the Pro much better than my LEM HK45.

Enjoy your off-roster HK45. It's a privilege and treat behind the iron curtain.

I own two HK45s: one with LEM and one without.

If you're in Southern CA, maybe I'll see you at a CG shooting event and you can see the difference.

A friend of mine has a HK45 LEM trigger. It was pretty good. It was just like a P2000 I used to have.
