Thinking about trying a CZ. Need help

Trigger break - The Sig breaks a bit sooner than the CZ does.

Trigger system - the closest system would be CZ 75 BD or SP-01 tactical. They are both decockers.

Weight - CZ 75 BD is closer to the P226. SP-01 weighs a ton.

Controls - the slide stop from the CZ is located far away from the right hand thumb.

Bore axis - P226 is higher but in 9mm the difference is insignificant.

Sight picture (factory sights) - I use POA/POI for CZ and combat sight for P226.

Ergonomic - The P226 is a bit fat for my tiny hands (I have not held the e2 grips). CZ grips fit like a glove.

Fit and finish - P226 hands down. Although I have noticed that the new CZ's finish has improved.

.22 LR kit - Sig .22lr sucks. The Kadet Kit eats everything.

I can't recall shooting any 9mm that was problematic due to bore axis.

Closest CZ to a full size Sig would be a 97BD, or SP01 Tactical.

Closest to the compact (228/229) should be the P01.
I'm not insinuating firearms with a high bore axis are bad...Just haven't experienced shooting a Sig. I know I love my CZ though.

I don't think a CZ feels like a Sig at all.
Just thought I would try something different. For a plinking gun.

Okay, Brodie you "Sigtard", if you own one of these:

then great. Sigs are great guns. But out of the box, none of those guns beats this:

for the range or for plinking. Unless you have a P226 X5 Comp which costs substantially more than the TS. The TS is a bargain for what you get in a firearm. It even comes with three mags and extra parts. None of my other CZs even come close to the TS as a range dog. Out-of-the-box the TS rules. The pistols finish doesn't come close to a Sig, but the small ragged holes it makes will make you forget about the cheesy finish on the frame. And the checkering, Oh my gosh! Just keep your eyes on the blued slide.

Oh crap. I just saw the post above. I've never shot or seen one in the metal. Can we get a Tac Sport here in Cali?

So true! I got rid of the cheesy finish and now it's my favorite

That is a gorgeous TS. It needs to be displayed properly and placed front and center.

                  Is that hard chromed?

To the OP, I just picked up a P-01 (still in jail). I shot one of the rentals at the range and fell in love. Even though it's the compact version (think Glock 19 size), it was still more accurate than I am. Very nice and easy to shoot. I'm more of a compact gun guy, but would encourage you to take a look at the compact version CZ's. They are still very large... not pocket guns by any stretch

Apples and oranges. They are very different pistols. Their only similarity is that they're both 9mm (P226 and CZs).

The closest is a bastardization of both those pistol styles...called...SAR K2. It's made by the Turks and is a good pistol. Also off roster.

Hard chrome treatment is on my list of things to do to my P-01 once I get it. Might keep it stock for a couple months and just enjoy shooting it before I start the slippery slope of throwing money at it!

It could just be your picture, but the frame looks very matte while the slide looks shiny. Was that intentional? What made you go that route over a uniform finish all around?

My friend has P226 Elite and I have a full size CZ 75 B. They are different and both excellent. Feel very different though. I haven't shot his P226 yet so cannot comment more on that but CZ 75 is amazing, and so is P-01.
