Firstly, the 97B has a big grip. I have pretty large hands, so it's perfect with the thin aluminum grips. I have had zero problems with even the crappiest ammo I can dig up, it points very naturally, and is a soft shooter. It's more of a push than a snap. The 97B has a very nice trigger out of the box and most of its limitations are those of the operator.
The 97B is one of my favorites because it's much easier to field strip and clean than a 1911. Sure a 1911 isn't bad, but caring for a 97B is easier.

Rented a CZ 75B at the range, and ended up picking up the SAO version. Will probably grab a SP-01 down the line (maybe 15 days or so to be specific...)

One of the few remaining all steel .45s still on the CA roster that isn't a 1911. The gun shoots straight, has light recoil and points pretty well for me. I think it's a fantastic gun, but I don't have a reason to buy one yet.. love shooting them though.

My first CZ was the 97b. It's a nice heavy .45 full sized CZ. Different from a 1911 model all around. Heavier, fuller grip from front to back, longer trigger pull, easier to take apart, wider slide (frame). All this talk makes me miss her so.

Nice first CZ to grab! Love my SP-01 and its bone stock.

I like mine a lot, will never sell it.

Very accurate pistol. Recoil very mild due to mass of the gun plus low bore axis.

If you have a large palm you should be able to get a suitable purchase on the grip. If you have long fingers, the DA trigger reach should be no problem for you. I have large palms but my hand is more square than rectangle shaped, fingers not-so-long compared to the rest of the hand. DA trigger reach is a real stretch for me. Fortunately, I never actually shoot the gun that way, and the SA trigger reach is perfect for me.

If buying used, be aware that CZ had a recall for a replacement barrel. There's nothing "wrong" with the original barrel, but the feed ramp on them is a tad short and some flat point or hollow point bullets can nose-dive and jam rather than feed up and into the chamber. The replacement barrel has a longer feed ramp and has fed anything I've put into the gun. But the barrel is not drop-in, the gun has to be sent into CZ to have the barrel fitted.

I am a CZ fan and they are good guns right out of the box (for the price) but they can be GREAT guns with a little added investment. CGW is the place to go for a good action/trigger job. I've had this done on all my CZ's and while not cheap, to me it was worth every penny. All of my CZ's have been just a tad unrefined... the average gun owner would probably never complain or even notice... but if you appreciate a GOOD gun, you will definitely appreciate the difference a CGW slick-up job will make. This platform has amazing potential when given the right kind of attention.

Go for the 97B, mine is never going bye bye ! I traded a 357 Eagle for it, and no
looking back, was tired of looking for 357 hot stuff to cycle the Eagle.

                      Looking for a CZ 2075D RAMI 9MM

                      I'm looking for a CZ 2075 RAMI D 9MM (off roster)
I carry the CZ 2075 RAMI with safety as my CCW and worry about hand dropping the hammer with a round in the chamber.
I've done it a thousand times but it only takes one slip.
Any help from CZ owners will be greatly appreciated.

I own a 97B and an 75 SP-01, both amazing handguns in my humble opinion. I'm not experienced enough to know if they need to be upgraded, but I do know that they're pretty amazing as is.
