    Springfield 1911?

    Hey gang,

On the Springfield brand of 1911 that is California legal (brand new), at a price point below $950.00, which particular model do you like and why??

    Thanks.

    Yup, what he said.

Choose from .45acp or 9mm as you prefer.

I have the Loaded and have zero complaints with it. Later this year or early next year I plan on sending it back to Springfield to get custom.

I like the old school version of the 1911 so I stick with the Mil-Spec models. You could almost buy 2 Mil-Specs or maybe a Mil-Spec and a RIA GI.
Either way, you can't beat Springfield Armory. I'm very happy with mine.

Springfield Armory PI9124LP Range Officer 1911 Pistol .45 ACP 5in 7rd Stainless Model: 1911|Range Officer Caliber: 45AP Action: Single Action

The Carbon steel Mil-Spec is built on a full-size frame and slide. The pistol is made from carbon steel, which has a parkerized finish on the flat surfaces and bead-b

          Thanks gang.

As a follow up, is there a difference between the slide/frame fitting of the Mil spec vs. the loaded models?? I am struggling not to sound newbie here but the two LGS where I live don't have both for comparison.

I am quite enamored of the stainless Loaded Target, due to the fine slide serrations vs. the rest of the loaded series. At the same time, I also like the " old school " version of the 1911 like what " goldfish " mentioned above.

However, I fear the Mil spec MIGHT be loser in fit than the loaded???? I like a snug fitting 1911 by the way.

              Here's the SS Mil Spec
The Stainless Steel Mil-Spec is built on a full-size frame and slide. The pistol is made from stainless steel, which has a polished finish on the flat surfaces and bead-b

I think it would be impossible to fit it tighter The MS I purchased at the end of last year is very very tight. I have another one coming in a couple weeks. I haven't held that one yet.

I compared my new Mil-Spec to a new Rock Island GI and a new Colt 1991.

I think it is. It is Catalog ID: PI 9132L, Stainless. Just that they are hard to come by. Its been out of stock for sometime at Budsguns.

Yes Sir, I'm just a desert rat so sights aren't that important right now. Once I'm able to hit a basketball at 20 feet I'll think about adjustable sights

I have plans for the new Mil-Spec, plans that involve the custom shop, more likely it will be plans that involve sitting at the bottom of my safe.

                      Have a good evening

I think that's only on the 9mm version. The .45 looks to have the thicker serrations.

Targets have the finer lines...9mm or .45

Huh, didn't know that. Can't find any of the target models on Springfield's website anymore.

Second hand TRP. That would be my goal. They can be had in your price range.
