You have purchased and registered the gun with DOJ on the date you pick it up from DROS (once 10 day wait is over). Anything after is just customization. Also, it is not a frame but an actual firearm that will get DROSsed.

I also do not see where you are getting your information on banning semi-auto PISTOLS in CA. There is no such a law even being proposed and it would not pass a Constitutional muster.

SB880 is just the start of the battle. It's the opening shot on semi-autos. Do you really think we'll survive 8 years of Grabbin Loathsom without a complete ban on all semi-autos? They start with rifles and pistols with second grips, then move on from there.

If I had a nickel for every time I was told by other gun owners "that will never happen," I'd be a millionaire.

Have you looked at the proposed laws recently? Do you really think any of them will pass Constitutional muster? Of course not! They're intentionally introducing bills that they know are unconstitutional! That doesn't stop them. It takes a decade or more and millions of dollars to challenge each and every one of them. So the law typically stands until it's overturned. They know that and take advantage of it.

If Hillary or Bernie gets elected, all bets are off. Especially with the future of the Supreme Court in their back pocket. Trust me when I say semi-autos will be history. We'll be lucky to own any firearm PERIOD.

Or is it an additional 1 to 2 years for the mods?

SVI has a base model they send you in 1-2 weeks. Correct, you DROS that and send it back then wait your 12-18 months for building (and try not to call them too often when your design changes tune after staring at their previous pieces).
