I'm about to order some Fiber Optic front sights for two of my CZ pistols. I started wearing progressive lenses a year or so ago, my vision is not that great, and I have been having a helluva time focusing on the front sight the last couple years. For those of you that have FO sights, which seem to stand out/draw your eye more effectively, red or green?

I see green better myself. I think that's the general consensus for most people but only way to find out is to try them both. The rods aren't expensive just buy one of each. They're easy to switch out too.Just a libertarian guy in a Leftist Authoritarian state.

Depends on you sir... everyone is different..Comment

I prefer the green one. But I have both colors just in case. Gives me some options if I want to switch them out.
You really need to try them both. One Way to Post Pics ********** How to Submit an iTrader Rating That Counts ********** Brass for Sale

The bullseye is usually red so a non-red front sight gives me better contrast.Comment

Green on my FO/tritium hybrid front sights. Red FO for longer range.Comment

That's an idea. I went to their site, but I'm unsure which product link to choose. Can you point me to the right one?Originally posted by HopetonBrownI bought a few feet of each from Fiberopticproducts.com for cheap. Just make sure it's the right width. Most sights use 040.Comment

I have a customer that makes laser lights (effects & landscape oriented) and they gave me a couple to, ummm... "Demo".
They make them in Green, Red, and Blue, and the Green is much sharper and crisper than the other colors. You can see this in the first picture, the blue ones a little blobs while the green are crisp little dots.
I was told it's because green is the easiest color in the spectrum for the human eye to focus on.
I don't have any red FO's but I do have a green on my Buck Mark and like it a lot. I vote green, or get both and try them out.Last edited by whipkiller; 04-11-2016, 7:58 PM.Too many hobbies, Too little time.

Green looks slick when you're just looking at the gun, but I pick up red quicker. Ymmv.Comment

I placed my order. The sights I'm getting will actually come with both green and red inserts. I'll put the green on one gun, red on the other. Both guns are pretty similar; CZ 75 compact, and a D/PCR. I'll be able to compare side by side at the range while trying them out. I had truglos on a gun that I had in the past and really liked the FO setup, but I think I just prefer an FO up front and stock rears so that the front sight just "jumps out" more. I hope they help my middle-aged eyes.Comment

I was just going to say...the fiber is easily replaceable so get both and see which ones you like better.I placed my order. The sights I'm getting will actually come with both green and red inserts.
