    Glock rtf special?

Per title. Why are the glock rtf so hard to find and pricey? What makes them so special?

Glock discontinued the RTF model to civilians. The fish gill slide is unique which is why I like them. Edit to add. The grip also has an aggressive feel to it and it's not slick like the regular gen3's.

So its like off roster. Lol. Discontinued might as well be off roster.... I do like the fish gills, and see that even rarer is the "c" runs are very $$$. would love to acquire a 17c rtf

Its on roster and not that hard to find out of state if you look. They are not worth the $400 dollar premium that most people are asking for them. But with that being said, I am not a fan of the fish gills for power stroking the slide, but I will say the RTF2 grip texturing is worlds above the Gen 3's, but not for glock gen 4 pricing.

Yes it is similar, although slightly more aggressive.

While I do own a 17 rtf, I'm not a big fan. I like the gen 4 grip better and am not impressed with the fish gill slide grip at all. They went for look over function, it would work much better if the C cuts were in the opposite direction. The standard slides work much better anyway. But all that said, I won't be selling my rtf. It's different and cool to have, I shoot my gen 4 17 more though.

Glock rtf models as well as Green Glocks and Baby Poo (tan) colored Glocks are considered to be way more Tacticool in the Glock fan club.

Add to that the fact they were not on Calif Roster and you can figure out the rest.

The RTF texture is the standard Gen 2-3 frame texture. It is rougher than the original frame texture featured on the Gen 1 Glocks.

The RTF2 texture was created due to a request by LE agencies for a more aggressive frame texture for use in humid/wet enviroments.
LE agencies can still place orders for RTF2 textured Glocks.

The RTF3 texture was created at the same time as the RTF2, it is more agressive than the RTF but less agressive than the RTF2. The RTF3 is the standard texture for Gen4 Glocks.

Well thank you for the intel. Boy those glock are so confusing. Gen 1,2,3 and the unobtaniam gen 4. I spent all my cash on other pistols and ran across some for sale. Contemplated about if its worth selling my gen 3 g22 nust to get some fishgills and texture?

The "fish gills" slide serrations were only available in the first run RTF2 Glocks.

Subsequent runs on the RTF2 Glocks have the original side serrations.

The "fish gills" slide serrations were done to see if they would be more positive (grip-able) when in a wet/humid environment.

I prefer RTF2 over Gen4. I also like the 20 LPI fsc on the TRP.
