Only person I ever saw get bit by a Glock slide was someone who used a grip technique suitable to a revolver but never to be used on a semi.

It sounds like you are asking for a full length G17/G34 grip and a short G19 style slide.

So you could also try a Pearce grip extension on the 19 magazine if you are looking for more grip area like a 17/34 frame, or even use a 17/34 mag with an Xgrip adapter. Either would give you about the same grip length as a 17/34, while keeping a short 19 slide.

I get slide bite all the time. It's fairly common and isn't usually indicative of a problem with your grip. I carry a heavy sports camera for hours at a time, 20 weekends a year so the muscles (or fat) in between my thumb and index finger are pretty large and when pressed against the backstrap of the Glock its common to get nicked by the slide.

I have one on my 34. It works well. Although I've never had a problem with slide bite. But it does allow me to get a very high handed grip.

Putting it on was a biotch. Had to heat the thing up with a hair dryer to get the pins in.
        Sorry, not sorry.

He's doing the opposite. G19 slide on a G17 frame. Shorter sight radius but more printing with a longer grip.

Thanks for the contribution. I'm attempting to prevent slide bite and refuse to accept it as normal. I don't feel that I should have to bleed after shooting a few rounds out of a new pistol. The 34/17 frame allow for more real estate (for my hands) thus no slide bite. So I thought I'd ask about slide compatibility between the two models in the hopes of keeping the compactness (slide length/weapon light is more important) with the added benefit of comfort while shooting.
