Here's a picture of the feed ramp. It does look like the one you posted. Please excuse the dirt. I wiped it a little, but I have yet to clean it completely. Maybe in a month or so

You'll be one of "those guys" at the range.
Next will be a hand size bag of silica gel to fondle during target changes.
I know a guy who does that to keep his hands dry he says.

I get more of the shank bite versus the spur. Sometime back I ordered a "kydex beavertail" from a fellow in ID. It works well for the bite but does add slightly to the grip. I think the gent died, and someone else took over the business. If interested, I'll see what I can find.

Kyle, that is interesting. How does it feel and how much does it add to the grip - i.e. noticeable?

Trigger, beautiful highpower, and a fun to read review. Thank you and congrats. Probably stating the obvious here, but one of the things about collecting firearms of varying styles and manual of arms is you often have to adjust yourself to the weapon. Many handguns are now "legacy" pieces and are from a time when shooting styles and techniques and theories of carry and use were different than they are today.

If it were me, and I wanted the Highpower as a true carry piece and functional tool perfect for me, I would do whatever modifications necessary to make it perfect for me. If otoh I merely wanted to own one as specimen example of the model to examine, study, appreciate the design and admire, I would keep it as is, and enjoy it for what it is, and adjust myself around the handgun on the few times I take it out to fire for the pure enjoyment. If that means wearing a golf glove, putting medical tape on the web of my hand, or adjusting my grip, so be it. Enjoy. That's a beautiful pistol.

nitroxdiver - Very well said. You helped me realize the underlying reason, or at least the main one, for this acquisition. It is actually the latter that you pointed out. I like shooting my 1911's and CZ's a lot and I was hopeful that this BHP will add to that list. Although it seems like it will not, unless some modifications are made, it serves another purpose, and probably a more important one for me. I think you helped sway me in the right direction. More times than not, I simply pull it from the back of the safe, give it a nice wipe down, and enjoy the act of admiring the functional art that it is. The late Mr. Camp was an authority on the P-35 Hi-Power. You will find a wealth of information here on his site not only about the Hi-Power but many other opinions on other pistols and revolvers as well. His family/friends I believe keep the site active. I own his book on the J frame and it is well written and informative.

I just ground about 1/3 of the hammer off and that ended the bite.

The hammer bite is a well document issue with the BHP. Replacing the hammer with a commander style, again, common and well documented.

The BHP creepy, heavy trigger will also a well documented issue with the BHP due to the magazine disconnector. (Who knew the Belgian who spec'd the mag disco would re-incarnate as a Californian Legislator, but I digress). Tuning the BHP trigger to a crisper is typically limited to about 4-4.5 lb with the mag disco intact. I can be lowered, but then using a BHP for self-defense with a "de-activated" safety device, causes a whole other sets of issues.
