Get a -connector from Glock. I've had one in mine for the last like 6-7k rounds and no problems. It's a OEM part.

As far as the mag releases go, I originally had a Zev, and while it's good for certain holsters and competition, I took it off and installed JP mag releases on my G19s. Lower profile and doesn't inadvertently release like the Zev on my carry oriented holsters that I use (Incog and Sparks Summer Special). They help me keep a good grip while dropping the mags .I kept the Zev on my G21 though, but I pretty much only use that in a Raven OWB.
One of my 19's has Trijicon HD, its a fast setup but I have the Wilson Combat gold bead on another, which I really like as well. A friend has the Dawson Precision FO sights, they're excellent as well.Comment

Agreed.Originally posted by HopetonBrownI wouldn't consider any of that stuff an upgrade.
Also agree.
Similar experience here. I am back to 100% stock.sigpicComment

OEM Minus connector, OEM extended Slide stop, and your choice of sights.Comment

What did you replace them with? The G17 version?Originally posted by HopetonBrownThe oem extended mag release digs into my palm and I find it uncomfortable. I removed it from my G34. I've also seen people inadvertantly release their mag when they grip the pistol.
I also removed the oem extended slide release on my G34 as it doesn't do anything but possibly cause my thumb to engage it, keeping the slide from locking back.Comment

Thx. I'll make note of that. I haven't shot my G34 enough to detect issues.Originally posted by HopetonBrownYeah, I replaced the oem extended controls with the regular oem controls.
I do like the Vickers/Tangodown mag release, but I shoot SSP in IDPA which prohibits aftermarket controls, so I took them out of all my Glocks as I didn't want to get used to the slightly longer length. My reloads are around 2 seconds, but that's surely because I don't practice reloads enough.Comment

I went with a normal slide release as well. I stuck with the Tango Down mag release since I have a Zev trigger and run ESP.Originally posted by HopetonBrownThe oem extended mag release digs into my palm and I find it uncomfortable. Thanks. I may need to try this. You are the 4th guy who knows what they are talking about to mention liking itOriginally posted by HopetonBrownThe Taran Tactical Innovations notch is 125 vs the Defoor 150, so it's tighter, which I prefer, but not everyone's cup of tea.Comment

+1 on the Suarez -- had a Zev Universal Pro magwell, tried it on 3 different G19 frames, and 10rd mags wouldn't lock in (to be fair, haven't tried it with standard capacity mags - although I fail to see how that would lock in vs the 10rd mags). Then Zev told me I was SOL... Time to break out the dremel...
Got a Suarez and couldn't be happier. Just waiting on the +0 thin baseplates to come back in stock.Comment

On the G19, probably not at all, just an added precaution against totally screwing the pooch on a reload -- the double stacks frames are much more forgiving than the 1911. Mostly like how the G19 fits the little finger of my shooting hand with it there.
As far as baseplates, I'm absolutely convinced that they help with reloads under time and stress. I currently use the DP +0 .200, and really like them. This is for games and not for cc, which is why I'm waiting on the Suarez ones to come back in stock, they have a much lower profile. Not that my chances of ever getting a cc in this state are any better than winning Powerball...
Shooting on a timer, is it worth $75? Depends on the user. I like it, and personally find that gear that is comfortable and ergonomic to use is gear that I perform best with.
Photo is of the Zev magwell, not the Suarez. I think the Sauarez is better.
