Love my Browning BDM. It's fits the criteria.

The P220 mentioned is a unicorn and much larger than a Glock 19 in every dimension.
The Kahrs are a little thinner but taller than a Glock 19, much taller than a 26, though a little shorter slides.
Those S&W's are out of production, definitely heavier than a G19 and most likely larger dimensions.

I can go on but basically you're looking for inferior items, get a practical and reliable gun like a Glock 19/26, Glock 42/43, or S&W Shield.
Can you elaborate on a double stack feeding more reliably than a single stack? I have never heard that claim. Also you all keep on mentioning a lot of off roster guns the OP would have to put a lot of time and trouble in to finding.

A BDM is a full sized service pistol and I doubt he will easily find one I may have seen like 1 last year in hundreds of gun shop and gun show visits.

          I agree re 1911.

Full size, if you want. Or Colt Commander (which is lightweight) or Combat Commander (which is all steel model). Commanders and Combat Commanders in 9mm are a joy to shoot, and the Commander was originally designed as a 9mm platform.

For a 1911 I would, however advise against going any shorter than the original Commander/Combat Commander barrel length, which is 4.25 inches (some manufacturers are/were making their versions of Commander pistols at 4.0 inches, which lends itself to potential reliability issues).

How does .25 of an inch cause reliability problems? I do agree 3.5in and below 1911 patterns can be finicky and I tend to avoid them.

I am told that going shorter becomes more problematic. I also notice that some well known manufacturers who used to make 4.0 inch "Commander" type pistols seem to now be making 4.25 inch pistols.

Due to the cone barrel type lockup system? I tend to prefer a standard style guide rod setup.

I think it has to do with the physics, but I am only repeating what I have read - but I have done a lot of reading.
