I sent my custom 2 back to kimber after 13 years of use. The plunger tube was loose and the slide release was very worn. Yesterday they sent the gun back to me and the ups delivery was much unexpected. Total time was about 3 weeks. They replaced the plunger tube and the slide release. Gun is now like new. Best part: no charge. I'm very impressed kimber!

The Kimber stainless Micro Carry .380 I purchased last year would fail to extract after fouling from just 50 rounds. Also it would oftentimes throw brass into my face. Sent it back and they replaced the extractor (also appears adjusted differently), polished feed ramp and chamber throat and replaced the recoil spring. It now is perfect. The best .380 I've tried and it replaced my older interarms ppk/s.
Upset that it wasn't perfect out of the box though but at least they do make them that way if sent back. -
How old is the gun?Comment

My wife's Pro Carry HD II 38 Super was brand new and wouldn't consistently go into battery after 400+ rounds. Kimber turned the gun around in less than 3 weeks. We'll find out tomorrow how it's working, but Kimber test fired 4 mags. Work included barrel polish ream/polish chamber, reduce TPW (it was a bit over spec) and also replace the FP and grip safety gratis. I'll update after we fire, but I'm very pleased with the quick turnaround.
UPDATE: Gun runs like a champ. Should probably have sent it in sooner since the severity of the FTRB was such that I really didn't thing banging FMJ into the feed ramp would resolve the issue.Last edited by rdtompki; 02-07-2016, 6:36 PM.Comment

Write words. Abbreviations are not always universal and some won't understand what you are talking about. Like, what's a TPW? Been working on 1911s for twenty years and have no clue what you are abbreviations here."Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." -Ben FranklinComment

Purchased a very used Custom II that had some issues, told Kimber as much & they had me send her in. Numbers excape me now, but I believe they told me she was at least 10yrs old ~ Anyway they fixed what I found, plus a multitude that I didn't & had her back home in 3 weeks, all free of charge! Just goes to show that Kimber takes care of their customers!WTB: S&W 617 4" 10 shot Pre-LockComment
