For myself I love 45 but only out of a 1911

I have owned a G21SF and while it was too big for me, it shot and soaked up recoil like a champ

If you're not shooting 45 out of a 1911 I don't see the point to shooting more expensive bullets when 9mm is cheaper. The paper target doesn't care which you hit it with, the in a self defense situation, placement trumps caliber.
