The Expert would be awesome but the price is really steep. I'd say get the 41 (first). I have a 35 and it soaks up the recoil on the .40 cartridge nicely so I can imagine a .45 would be a breeze. Add a weapon light and your even more in the green. If you still have the USP itch maybe get the Compact so you have some variety in your arsenal.

USP. Because it's sexy (so is the sig) and I personally love how USPs shoot. I like sigs in 9mm and I'm not a big Glock fan.
History can repeat itself, and it will soon. And when it does, it won't be the North and South. It'll be the "US Government" and the TRUE American people fed up with the Governments insidious ways, fueled by determination to see this Country return to its former glory.

I have a G41 and standard USP (not an expert). H&K is a little softer shooting. Both yield about the same size groups for me. If for self defense I like the H&K because I like the double action option. If purely for target I like the 41, with the longer sight radius and all the tweaks available. Again, I don't have the expert H&K so I can't help you there.

Oh, I haven't seen a 10mm conversion option for the .41 yet and am not certain they are going to do one...

                  my hand prefers the USP,
but also get the Glock (Because you can put a 10mm upper on that frame...) the conversion, is buying a 40 MOS upper on gunbroker, and slide it on. same frame...

                    Glock 41
I'm a Sig guy but when it comes to 45acp a Gen2 21 never gave me any troubles whatsoever.

USP - never liked HK triggers

227 - my 229 40 is about my limit. The 227's I've shot were just a bit much. 220's balance way better. I prefer a 239 9mm in Sig single stacks

Of those guns the P227 cause it's chock full of awesome! And I'm just really not a Glock or HK guy. If it was a M&P 45 I would have a harder choice. And if it was a M&P with an Apex Flat Face trigger in it, I would probably pick that.

Not on your list, but why not consider the cz 97? Seems to fit the same criteria as the others. Double stack .45, extremely accurate and extremely upgradable if you choose to do so. But of those listed HK all the way.

I would choose none of these, because I have a 1911, a FNP-45 USG, and a K2-45. All of them are better than the choices you listed.
