Colt may start building Pythons again

    Guns of America link:
https://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/cla...hot-show-2016/ Will the inflated value of the ones circulating the market go down?

Not likely, there will always be a market for "the original," plus there will be a perceived quality difference just like the old vs new S&W argument. New ones will also be very expensive.

I was reading this article and thinking the opposite. Oh great prices are going to shoot through the roof on the older ones.

I doubt they will use the old tooling and hand fit and finish each gun like they used to. That would likely make them more expensive than original production models.

I expect they will have no choice but to use their CNC's to build the new ones to keep cost and pricing realistic for the marketplace.

Although purely speculating, I agree with @AreWeFree and @81Degrees above.

Colt makes Series 70 GI 1911's (reproduction), but the original ones are still more expensive

GIF made me laugh too, but many that are hoping Colt would start production again feel the same.

So... will they be duplicates of the on list versions or new ones? If new, they will not make the list and we'll never see them

I hear Sig is going to make a better and closer to the original copy.

If they don't change anything in the design which I would think they would not.

Nope. Pythons aren't rare to begin with. They made them forever. Sure, they aren't making them any more, but I've held many and fired some, and seen more of them in gun shops through the years than any rare firearm.

There are tons of pythons already.

Why can't they be submitted and listed?

For the record I think the private sale will go down if Colt prices their new ones reasonably.
