    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I like mine. It is reasonably accurate (for a snubby, of course), and the trigger in SA is good. DA is heavy, though. The factory moon clips are fragile, and Taurus only seems to make them in batches (took a few months for them to ship the extras I ordered). I put a Pachmyer compact grip on mine. What else do you want to know?

        Taurus....
don't loose your warranty address & contact info, and keep fed/ex info close at hand also. Pay the extra bucks for next day service.

I didn't need to preface, 'if you plan to shoot it', because Taurus revolvers are known to be NFG out of the box. Mine was, and I've seen more than a few taurs revolvers fail a range inspection for qualification. I still remain confident on whom to believe, a sales pitch or my own lying eyes. Good Luck.

Well, I basically disagree. My 905 has been perfect. I did, however, have a 94 (22LR) that was stellar through the first 1100+ rounds. It then started spitting lead back at me, so I sent it in for repairs. But I have heard of certain Smiths doing something similar (model 317 comes to mind).

sorry about your taurus experience. i've read and heard similar experiences about the taurus line ups. that's why i wonder if it's worth to get this 9mm revolver.

                  thanks.

As I said, mine has been perfect. I am the 2nd owner, and have put ~500 rounds through it. The 905 is built on their model 85 (.38 Special) frame, and that gun has a very solid reputation. As for recoil, I don't have anything to compare it to, other than my wife's Ruger LCR in .38 Special. The Taurus has less recoil than the Ruger (the Ruger is mostly polymer and is very light. The Taurus is all steel and heavy).

If you decide not to buy the 905, and it is in SoCal, I would appreciate if you PM'd me the contact info of the seller. Thanks.

Some 30 years ago, the country of France ordered more than a few 6 shot ,K frame, four inch revolvers for some French LE purposes of some kind.

S&W had a difficult time keeping those revolvers operational to the end users for reasons I don't know. But I do know that K-frame 6 shot S&W revolvers was a major short lived headache for both France and S&W.

I have never seen any indication of reputable evidence that taurs has ever equaled or surpassed S&W quality or design. And taurs has never had a successful in-house design of their own that wasn't discontinued and concept scraped in short order insuring that locating spare parts for that model as easy as finding rocking horse puckey.

How these facts add up to a new purchaser willing to gamble that tarus has finally started producing a reliable well designed pistol escapes me.

I owned a Taurus .38 snubbie many years ago. I was the original owner.

Cylinder locked shut on me. A local gunsmith could not get it open. I shipped it back to Taurus and they repaired it. I paid shipping one way.

I called Taurus many times. They never returned a call. They never told me what failed or what they repaired.

Once the gun was repaired, I sold it to a dealer. I would not trust it again. I was not pleased that Taurus never spoke to me or sent a repair report of any kind.

Other than Taurus, I have never had a revolver fail on me, ever.

                        Good luck.

I concur with these guys...I made the HUGE mistake of giving Taurus a chance after seeing all of their marketing propaganda. You know the kind of which I speak...

"We know how good our guns are, and we are not afraid to stand behind them... for a lifetime". OR

"We at Taurus are totally committed to the very highest standards of quality, dependability, and most of all, customer satisfaction".

This is all just marketing B.S. and I was dumb enough to fall for it..New management...blah..blah...blah

My family and I "went in" on a pistol purchase for my Sister's b-day. Huge mistake and nightmare! My Sis really wanted a handgun for home defense so the family got together and raised the funds. On our first trip to the range the gun had major issues. The pistol continued to lock up and not fire. This was a brand new gun. Purchased from a local dealer through Davidson's. It was a model 850CIA. TOTAL GARBAGE!

After returning the pistol to Taurus for repairs and receiving it back in worse shape, we asked for a refund from the dealer and moved on to a Smith & Wesson bodyguard. This gun was intended to defend the life of a family. Not just a plinker. I can never, ever recommend Taurus to ANYONE with good conscience. Absolutely UNACCEPTABLE!

                            Yah...but..but...but...

Smaller LE agencies, Prison outfits, a security companies often times issue pistols to their troops for duty and qualification. So it is not uncommon for me to see the same gun being drug thru a qualification course by a different person days, weeks or months later.

Every once in awhile a security company gets a large contract and issues new Rossi & Taurus & LLamas & some other 3rd world POSs. It's not uncommon to see half dozen guys from a particular group sharing 2 or 3 functional guns to make it thru qualification. Everyone knows that someone in that group gets to carry the gun that went tets-up on the range this morning on duty tonight.

Or I'll see some beat-two-sheet 92f that passed inspection and working just fine yesterday start malfunctioning today because the owner figured by curving out factory installed parts with a harbor freight dremel tool and forcibly hammering in some aftermarket gun show replacement gimmick will make the gun more perfect.
