I own walther ppq and love it. I won't buy a vp9. Hk not know for cheap guns, all their other guns that can handle mud and water cost $1000 and up. Just save your money and buy a real hk. p30 or hk45, mk23 socom. Those hk won't jam in water and mud

Get the Glock, it's the standard that every polymer is compared to.

This video may get you to think twice:

Some funny comments. I had oil in the striker channel completely take my XDs out of service. I had to remove the slide and clear the striker channel to get it to operate. If you have a striker fired gun, and get liquid in the striker channel, you might have some issues. At least on the VP9 they were able to get the gun back in service with a simple malfunction drill.

That was not a tantrum, and the test did reveal some of the VP9's structural flaws. Look, you have your and I'll have mine, but don't reject reality because it flairs your buyer's remorse. Have fun with the pistol you paid 2x MSRP for. Just don't let it get wet or dirty

I was thinking that and felt it was inconsiderate to say it but now that you opened that can of worms, copy that!

Shot all 3, bought the VP9 for MSRP and shot the Canik TP9SA.

The Canik is the best one per dollar, for trigger, accuracy, capacity (if you live in a free state) and reliability.

Cav, if you own any glocks, do the maritime spring cups. If you examine them after installing you'll see how they could help prevent that from happening. Nothing is guaranteed, but comparing the marine cups to the standard cups you can see how they would act as a sh$@ vent and maybe keep something like that from happening. Sorry to stray off course.

OP, VP9 is a fine handgun. So is a Glock. Glocks are a world easier to detail strip. I'd rather have a gen3 than a gen4 personally.

I didn't watch the particular video, but I've seen his torture tests before and the general "torture" test videos. Pouring some sand on the gun and then firing and saying, look how reliable, is not a real torture test. Guns were made to be fired, not drug behind cars, buried in a sand box etc. Real test would be to run it continuously without cleaning it or oiling it and see how long it goes.

Do it with several different guns and see which one wins. My money would be on the Glock, gen 3 in particular due to looser tolerance. I'm going on two weeks without cleaning my Gen 3 19 and 900 rounds. Probably going to leave it dirty to see how long it will go, the 10/30W I have in it isn't going anywhere.

Plus here's this, a real torture test

Show me a VP9 doing this and then I will be impresssed.

Sure thing sir. Here is a photo comparison I lifted off google images showing the two. As you can see, the marine cups make contact in the striker channel at 4 points, instead of completely encircling it. It's to prevent a piston hydro lock type situation if the weapon is filled with water, but I think you can see how it COULD also be less susceptible to debris in the striker channel.
Cheap easy insurance that from my research doesn't have any downside detractors.

If you are roster exempt, why don't you buy both and see for yourself which gun is better. Because they are both off roster, you can sell the used one you don't like in the marketplace section of Calguns for more than what you paid for it.

Hell, selling one will likely recuperate all costs involved, if LE pricing is applicable.
