    FN 5.7 Mk2

What is the difference between early FN 5.7 and most current MK2? in the used market how do they compare when it comes to price ?

The IOM edition can't use the currect mags. Other noticeable changes include the trigger guard shape and pic rail. The IOM magazines are always marked for military or law enforcement. As for price, the IOM is usually a little more expensive.

The current production FNH Five-seveN is the Five-Seven MK2, which is the 5th generation.

1st gen = (1998-2004) Five-seveN (circle trigger guard, proprietary rail, 14lbs trigger pull, uses discontinued mags)
2nd gen = (1999-2004) Five-seveN Tactical (circle trigger guard, ambi-control levers, proprietary rail, 5lbs trigger pull, uses discontinued mags)
3rd gen = (2003-2005) Five-seveN IOM (circle trigger guard, ambi-control levers, picatinny rail, MDM, uses discontinued mags)
4th gen = (2005-2013) Five-seveN USG (squared trigger guard, ambi-control levers, picatinny rail, uses current production mags)
5th gen = (2013-present) Five-seveN MK2 (squared trigger guard, ambi-control levers, picatinny rail, uses current production mags)

Very confusing. I am looking at one with square trigger guard . NO serrations in the front . How do I know which one I am looking at ? I heard that the most recent ones have a solid slide .

That would be the (4th gen) Five-seveN USG.

Anyone know of any place that actually has one in stock? I have one, but might want to add one more just in case...

I spent almost an entire year searching for one online. I finally managed to pick one up a couple months ago off GB (from out of state).

If youre looking for an MK2 you might find one at an online retailer eventually. If youre looking for a USG version you won't find them outside of used marketplace.

Thanks. It's a bummer MK2 is not on the roster. I still have hope that FNH will produce a batch specifically for the CA market.

Getting another 5.7 is right there with getting an S&W 647 in 17HMR - it's on the roster and shows as "current," on the S&W website, yet I couldn't find one for the past several years.

Mk2 is on the roster, both the FDE and all black variant

                          I didn't realize it - thanks!

For some reason I thought it was introduced after LCI requirement and that it couldn't make it on the roster. So, the good news is that if I find it anywhere I can have it shipped to CA. Good news indeed.

It was added to the roster in 2013 I believe. Also both the older USG and MK2 have LCI as well as mag disconnect. Good luck with your search

Heres a pic of the LCI on an MK2, its that small ball bearing on the slide (silver) that just barely protrudes when the chamber is loaded

The LCI does not meet CA's requirement for a CLI.

The Five-seveN IOM and USG were added to the Roster before 2007, when only a MDM was required to get listed.
