    Single/double action

What is the smallest, lightest, single stack, 9mm single/double action hammer fired pistol available in Ca. now?
I have 2 double action only pistols for my ccw that I like because they are vey safe to carry in my pocket, but I'm not real accurate with them. Double action for carry and speed to use, and single action if I have time to aim would be better.
    Anything available??

Sig P239 for single stack and CZ Rami for double stacked.

    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Not that I would ever discourage anyone from buying another gun, but you'd be miles ahead by taking that same money and getting instruction of how to manage a DA trigger.

Except for the DA/SA requirement, the Kahr CW9 would really fill the bill. Plus it is accurate beyond reasonable expectations.

Having said that, I would recommend a SIG 225/P6 over the 239.

If you find it a bit thick, all you need to do is change the grips.

The 225/P6 were designed as holster guns and with the thicker grips to be more hand filling. The Hogue G10 or aluminum grips make it feel like a whole different gun.

Not bad advice, but the training involved to be proficient in a super high stress situation is not what I want to do right now.
Hence, the option of double action for speed and single action when time allows.

The Kahr PM9 is a DA only but you can take time and prep the trigger right before it breaks.

P239 is all I can think of. Everything else is off roster.

Technically, the 92FS Compact Type M is on the roster, but Beretta hasn't produced the single stack Compact 92FS for quite some time, now.

I wasn't talking about defensive training with the handgun, per se, but fundamental shooting instruction to learn trigger management.

Managing a DA trigger takes the same skills as a SA trigger, it is just that the trigger travels a longer distance between takeup and let off. Good DA trigger skills will make you a much better shooter with a SA pistol.

Remember that the speed difference between the first accurate DA shot from the holster and a SA one is nil
