    Glock 23

Im trying to talk myself into getting a 23, I have a 26 and a 34 (9mm) and was thinking of getting a 19 but having a hard time justifying needing it.

I have a kahr PM9 and a glock 26 on my CCW and have a spot left when renewal time comes. For my "big" gun I was going to go 19 but then thought since we are limited to 10 maybe I should go .40.

I reload and have a ton of .40 stuff so ammo is NO issue, should I stick to all 9mm or get the .40? Talk me into or out of it please ; )

Get the 23 and a conversion barrel if you really want to shoot 9. A conversion barrel is around $150-175. Best of both worlds. Besides you already have 2 9mm's on your card.

Go with what you shoot better, try them both before you get one!

I have a 23 and 19, I like my 23 more because its FDE but I shoot my 19 better due to minimally better recoil impulse.

      Only you can decide! Haha

Cant go wrong with a glock 23. I have a G27 and G35. if for some reason you don't like 40 cal, you can always get a storm lake conversion barrel and you are back shoot'n 9mm.

You know, I did the whole 10-rounds-the-bigger-the-better thing, but really, the difference between 9 and 40 isn't a huge deal. 9 is usually cheaper and IMHO easier and more pleasant to shoot.

If you're worried about not being able to find any 9 and need a solid 40 to shoot, then sure. Otherwise, I'm over that round myself. YMMV.

Its not an ammo issue, I was gifted 6k rounds of reloading components for .40

I have 1 other .40, its a PARA 1911 double stack that I have owned before the mag ban. Im not a big gun collector but want to buy something I will use, maybe I will buy a 19 and be able to use my preban mags or just get a .23 even though I like to shoot 9mm over 40 at the range......Hmmmmm

Hmm. Well I would agree that a 19/23 size gun makes for a good carry piece even with the 26 you've already got. It would almost certainly shoot better than the subcompact and still be concealable in colder weather. Personally I would suggest the 19 in that case but the 23 wouldn't exactly be a tragedy. I fired one a few times and found it more pleasant to shoot than the XD40 I wound up owning, which has the same size barrel.

IMO, avoid .40. Stick to 9, or .45. .40 just doesn't make sense in the pistol world.

The Glock 23 is an awesome gun. Especially if you own prebans.

Nothing wrong with the G23..... Nothing.....

If you are OK buying used, we might see a few waves of LEO trade ins as many departments are switching to 9MM....

Thanks for all the input, I find it informative. Still thinking.....would like to have another .40 to shoot up this ammo......like the idea of the 19 to add to the 9mm collection....hmmm. would like a larger carry piece for cold weather.

I carry my 26 most of the time, for a while I was carrying the kahr PM9 but when I really think about going up against a BG with more firepower I often feel like its a bad idea.

The 26 feels more like a real gun, but a 19/23 would be more substantial. Coin flip?

Just got a 23 couple of weeks ago. My first Glock. Was an impulse buy, as the price was just too good to pass.
Did some research, and I am very happy that I got it. Seems to be at the top of "if you only had to have one..." list.
Already bought 9mm barrel for it, can not wait to take it out for a spin.
