I believe the $2500-$3,000 for one with original stocks in 99% condition is a little high without box/target. From what I've heard, Colt made more 6 inch blue Pythons than other configurations, so with more of them out there maybe that keeps the price down a bit compared to others.

Inasmuch as all blue Pythons are off the CA Approved Gun List, it does not matter what they are selling for outside CA, because unless you are a LEO you can't import one. This means the supply of blue Pythons for CA buyers is limited to Pythons already in CA.

As noted, with SAE, not true

All you have to do is convince a non-CA seller that it's legal.

I've done it 3 times off Gunbroker....you just gotta explain that your FFL will convert to SAE to comply with Cali gun laws. The seller just ships per usual...if he wants to call the FFL, he can.

My understanding is the CA DOJ is telling FFLs to stop doing any more SAEs. A good friend did one a few months ago and not long after that his FFL told him the DOJ contacted him and told him to stop doing any more. Your mileage may vary, but be advised the DOJ is doing its best to shut SAE down.
