Armscor Mapp1 MS/FS - Tanfoglio Force 99

Yeah thumb safety... checking it out next to other CZ's it stands out being lighter, which is what I wanted a poly frame variation for. Witness P owners already know, but the poly frame versions don't have the full length frame rails like steel or alloy frames. There are two spots for steel frame inserts one above the trigger and one towards the rear on each side like a Glock, etc...that's why in one of the pics you can see the internal/RSA pressure pushing the slide up past parallel. Not an issue, just an observation.
Also CZ mags fit perfectly, CZ75, CZ40, the mags that came with my SP-01, MecGars, etc... all fit and drop free. There are .40, .38 Super, and .22 slides that will fit on this frame since it is just a Witness PS. I think there are 3rd party .357 sig barrels as well - not sure if those drop into the 9mm slide or you need the .40 slide.
Weight comes in at 26.84 ounces without a mag or 30.09 with a regular CZ 75 mag unloaded.
Compared to a:
CZ40B with light alloy frame at 28.78 / 32.24 ounces
CZ75 SP-01 Steel frame 37.18 / 40.67 ounces
Glock 41 with a Surefire X300U 28.29 ounces
XD9 Service 24.90 ouncesComment

Here's a few more pics showing safety and slide release. This really is a great looking gun from different angles too, and feels good in the hand with great grip for me and the diamond texturing is pretty aggressive on front and back straps. The wide sharp serrations on the rear slide are perfect and the scalloped shape of the forward slide really help grasp the rear of the gun too.

I got these from ArmCorp web site.I handled a few Armscor RIA MAPP FS pistols today. Nice smooth action, good fit and finish. Surprisingly nice triggers, especially in single-action - rivals any stock CZ or Beagle I have, but I will compare when I have one at home. The DA pull has a click at half-cock position and stacks a bit, but not bad.
Trigger Pull (Single Action)
4 - 7 lbs / 1.81 - 3.17 kg
Trigger Pull (Double Action)
14 - 15 lbs / 6.35 - 6.8 kg
Length of Twist
1 in 16"
4-7 lb pull SA don't you think it's too hard.Comment

The link with the ASP code never works. The AP9 is listed but AP9 doesn't appear anywhere on the gun or on the box or paperwork, etc... only on the roster. Seems pretty easy to comprehend why there might be an issue even if you don't take into account that the DOJ specifically said "NO".
The MAPP1 actually is referenced as MAPP1 and it is labeled that way on the top of the slide.
As far as the SA trigger pull goes, I didn't form the opinion by reading a weight range. I formed the opinion by pulling the actual trigger and comparing it to other actual guns I own
I prefer the SA pull on the MAPP. The DA pull has some stacking that the other CZ's and clones don't exhibit, but nothing horrible.
It would be tough to choose between my IMI's and the MAPP trigger overall, but the MAPP beats my SP-01 and 40B... less take up less grit better reset, better SA pull. Is it a Tactical Sport or Tuned 1911 trigger? NO. Didn't say it was
Better than my PPQ? NO. Didn't say that either.
Is this an amazing $400 gun that's on roster? YES. How many other polymer frame CZ style pistols are there on the roster besides the MAPPS? NONE.Last edited by crufflers; 06-26-2016, 2:05 PM.Comment

Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I wonder if Armscor would put an AP9 sticker on the MAP 1 box, if that would do the trick. If the actual firearm is the same, I would think that would work. Especially since Armscor still thinks the gun is on the roster.http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/
