    Sig P6 back from CCR!

Here is my little review of my CCR experience.

I bought 2 Sig P6s back in July/August one from Turners another from a Calgunnger. I contacted CCR and told them what I wanted and was quoted a time of 6-8 weeks. I went ahead and sent it in and my wait began.

My understanding is that CCR is a 1 man show for the most part, with a lady who runs the office. This obviously causes a lot of communication problems. I had an issue with being triple billed, that took almost 2 months to clear up. I have heard from a few others that have had billing problems as well, so it's seems like it may be quite common. The other problem is quoted time, I received my P6 back yesterday, that's a 16 weeks and 1 day wait, they received it on August 25th. I have talked to a few others and real times seem to be running around 12+ weeks.

I want to stress that I don't mind waiting 4 months(I've had Custom guitars that have taken 2 + years to get built), but please let me know that your running 4 months. I sent this in with plans of taking it with me on Christmas vacation, when I sent it in, I never had one ounce of concern about it making it back in time, the last few weeks I was a little anxious. I was told 3 times in the last month(3 calls in 3 weeks), my gun would ship in 2 days.

That brings up the problem with communication. Like I said it seems to be 1 lady, who could not be nicer, that answers the phone. Well I'm sure they get busy, so my experience is that about a quarter of my calls got answered, and about the same got returned when I left a message. As for emails, I sent 4 and 2 got returned. In all communications that I did have, I was always treated with respect and in a friendly manner.

So yesterday it finally shows up, I get the package open it up and to say I was more than happy would be an understatement. It looks awesome, it was clean and the finish is applied perfectly.

    Some pics,

This is my other P6, which is in better cosmetic shape than the pistol I sent in.

Now my "new" TT P6, with new NS and grips I put on yesterday.

    Adding 1 more pic.

It looks better than any new gun I have ever bought, the inside is finished just as the outside and the 2 mags were also refinished in black. I love this gun it looks great to me and feels so good in the hand, especially with the new grips. I am super impressed in CCR's work. TOP NOTCH!!!!

I just want to finish this off with I would definitely use CCR again! I would just pay with a Money Order up front, to avoid any other CC billing problems, and ask them to be honest about their turn around time. I don't mind waiting, but please don't quote times that are half of your real turn around times.

I think it can be confirmed that an alien xenomorph is absolutely no match for good ole' Alabama black snake!

    and

If you're in a survival movie and the hot blond twists her ankle and can't walk, you damn well figure a way to carry her. If it's a dude, you shake his hand and say "best of luck".

This is exactly how I feel. Vin and I have PM'd each other recently on this.
Brad's work is top tier. We all know, the long wait times and timetables that are not met, is typical of any good gunsmith out there. The lack of communication and double charged (or more) credit cards is not though. I have had this same issue with CCR. Although I did get both P6's back in time for Christmas (1 is a gift to a family member), as of today, I still haven't straightened out the double billing.

Pics not taken yet but will post as soon as I do.

Now is there a cure/ set up time involving Cerracote? Someone told me about a finish that you wanted to wait a while before even assembling the pistols much less firing them.

I've confuse CCR and Customized Creationz in the past as well.

By the way/ Reverse two tone is definitely the way to go. That P6 is gorgeous!

Looks good! I initially was going to go with Brad at CCR for my P6 work. Instead, I'm getting the CCAS treatment from Customized Creationz.

Did you have any spring/trigger/hammer work done?

The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

Very nice. I've sent one Sig and one Glock to CCR. My buddy's W. German P226 was badly rusted and pitted. Brad worked magic on it. It took him a lot of labor, he told me it was in the worst shape of any Sig that'd ever come through his shop. My Glock was (still is) a new an unfired Glock 23 that I had the slide done in gold, just for shts and giggles. He did the barrel and extractor in House Black.

I have a NIB Glock 19 that I'm also sending off... either to get Cera-Hide or a matte gray finish, I haven't decided yet.

And yes, promised delivery time and actual delivery time are waaaaaay off, like most small shops. But, the work is top-notch and the price is very reasonable. Like they usually say... price, turnaround time, quality... pick two.
