I'm not sure how exactly this thread went from what I need to buy to how to buy - but it seems like you already have all your bases covered & the only other thing that I recommend is buying more ammo... I mean sure you said that you already have some ammo and though you didn't say how much, I can assure you that it isn't enough

Most of the time all you need for pickup is:
Driver license
Car registration (or other secondary proof of registrationresidency)

Car registration is simply one of the proof of residency options available, it is not required. Something like a utility bill would work instead. A lot of people just use car registration because it's always with them (or at least, in the parking lot) when they're at the gun store.

I used my FSC, DL, DROS, and car registration. As for cleaning, I use ballistol for everything.

As for bag, I recommend the Midway range bag as a good value when their on sale. I bought the smaller size, which has a lot of space for your needs. There's YouTube reviews about the bag.

Lubricate the rails with a light grease, such as Shooters Choice. Comes in a syringe type deal. Good Stuff.

Clean with seafoam on carbon and light deposits, CLP in the bore. Lube with maritime grease. I like Otis kits for general cleaning, compactness, quality, and having all the gear you need.

I just wrap the stupid gun lock around the handle of the case so it can't be opened. Keep my ammo in a can in the bed of my truck.

If your gun ends up being a tight fitting example, a good bushing wrench will be nice to have. Best $5 I spent on my 1911 was the blue Wilson combat branded one.

Magazines are also great. No one likes to stop shooting every 30 seconds to repack a mag. I'm cheap and have had zero issues with mec-gar 8rd. Greg cote (industries?) Had the best price last time I checked, quick shipping, no CS problems.

Having a little cleaning kit and range bag is necessary. Something big enough to throw in a small cleaning kit (I like Otis), some cleaning rods for stuck cases or bore obstructions, couple paper towels, brushes, pin punch, lube, tin of breakable/wear parts (mostly AR bolt parts for me), a couple magazines, 2-3 boxes of ammo (maybe just 1-2 for .45), lens pen and solution, safety glasses, extra ear plugs, all of that junk. I got a small green purse looking bag for $5 at the local surplus store, I think it's for all the cleaning gear and stuff for a M240.

Eventually when you get a second or 10th pistol, you'll want a multi-gun case. I picked up a used pelican case off craigslist for a very fair price and got some semi-cut foam so it fits my two pistols, 4 mags, and 3 boxes of 9mm and .45, plus all the benefits of it being a pelican.

Just gunbag, lock, protections, ammo and gun for the range....this gun doesn't need much cleaning (for me anyway) but I have only put a few hundred rounds thru in the last few months.

Have you ever seen a new-in-box RIA? They look like they were dipped in a bucket of sticky oil and need at least a good field strip before shooting. It's also a good idea to run a patch or two down the barrel of any firearm to assure that there are no obstructions.

Always always always inspect your gun.

If you do not know what to ask for then ask. If the dealer gives an attitude find a new dealer. We get request from customers all the time to inspect firearms before they come in.

If you are a noobie tell the dealer you are new, ask to be shown the ropes. They should want to help you out.

For first 1911 buyers I always ask if they want to be shown how to disassemble and reassemble.
