Does that include "gifting' to me as a transaction?

Police trade in M&P .45s are cheap and desirable. And no longer on the roster.

He doesn't plan on breaking any Kali regs, but we're trying to lay out a purchase plan for him to acquire what can't be gotten here, but is desirable and not illegal to own in Kali.

Is gifting to me (his pops) a crate of SKSs or a case or 2 of new Glocks illegal? It doesn't matter who sees this, it matters what's Kali compliant, that's the intent, not to circumvent any regs. That is the question that needs resolve.

I presume any of the GEN 4 Glock 19s sold out of Kali have hi cap mags, so he'd need 10 rounders, si? PAX

What you are implying is that you would have him get them for you. That is a straw purchase according to the ATF. Now if you were to purchase from him after he moves here that would be a private party transfer. However you cannot tell him to buy you certain firearms before he moves here without committing a federal felony.

We're not talking about buying guns for me. He's buying them for himself, either for investment or availability. What I was asking, aside from which ones he should get, had to do with transfers. 5 transfers per year. Can there be more than one firearm per transfer? Is gifting 1 transfer transaction against your 5 annual transfers. Got off track, but somebody mention it, good to not dwell in the grey areas. Guns or no guns, I'm still glad he's coming home. PAX

sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.

Could you please clarify what you mean because that is not my understanding of it. AR, Ak, and Scorpion pistols all have a mag well outside of the pistol grip therefore even without a threaded barrel they are "AW" in California unless mag locked.

I *think* you are right. The AW comes from having a detachable mag, however I am not certain as to the threaded muzzle, as that applies to all semi autos AFAIK. can't have an attachment point for a silencer on any semi auto.

Not if you have a fixed magazine. The AW law applies to evil features in the presence of a detachable magazine.
