If I wanted a really fancy M&P I'd:
Buy an M&P for... $700? Don't know how much they are on the secondary market in CA.
Send to Apex for their fanciest trigger job $250.
Have them install sights $70 (plus $80 for Dawson Chargers).
Send to Enhanced Precision Products for their comprehensive grip package $225
Send slide to ATEI for top and forward cocking serrations, refinish in Nickle Boron $425
$1,725 for a gun that's probably better put together than a Salient for half the asking price.Comment

Why does this gun cost so much money? Jesus. How accurate is it? I would rather buy a CZ sp01 and get it sent over to CZ custom and get it customized to an accu shadow, and then buy a Springfield TRP.
Or get a Les Baer and a Dan Wesson CBOB and a Stealthgear USA holster.
Or maybe a Springfield professional for 2500 and buy 3000 rounds of ammo.
Just my two cents.Comment

For plastic guns, I have generally seen that whatever you spent is basically gone.
For a used gun, you will be able to recoup 1/3 or maybe half of what you spent on mods if your lucky, but not much more.
If it is BNIB, then you can probably get about 80% to 90% of the value.
If your asking more than that, than as a buyer I would rather pay the extra money and get a new one myself.Comment

That's a good way to look at it OP. As long as you're in no rush, you may eventually get an offer you can live with.
Also, maybe try posting it for sale on Gunbroker. They will take 5% on the sale, but it will be seen by a much larger potential gun buying audience.sigpicComment
