OP, I know it's not on your list, but have you considered the P30SK? They can be had for decent prices right now in free states(<$600), plus you won't have to worry about magazine capacity issues.

I really wish I could buy everything. I would hate to come home and then realize that I missed out on something. Just too much to buy. I would love to stay Utah, but family comes first.

Great suggestion, I forgot about that one.

1st of all, if you can avoid it, Don't move back.

2nd as many as you can afford, since the Roster will limit your future choices.

Also, if money becomes an issue, you can always sell it, since you need the money

An Arsenal Strike One might be a good pick up.

I would buy as many guns you want that are off roster, because you will not be able to get them out here

                  When I moved back I picked up a P320c FDE 9mm, 9mm shield, M&P CORE 5" 9mm, and my favorite of all: Grand Power K100 X-Trim 9mm.

Don't bother with anything on roster, and get something unique.

i'll lay it out real simple for value:

AR pistol lowers - $40 anderson lower becomes worth..... $200? more?
Tanfoglios - many consider them the best gamer guns and they are nearly impossible to get in CA. I would sell my Elite match.... for 1900. Takers.... feel free to PM.
Sig MPX - New, can't really do sse2 on them, going for double MSRP in MP bc of scarcity.

                    forget the rest.

So, the OP is asking about what to get for his personal collection that he intends on keeping.
Thought a straw purchase was for buying for a prohibited person?

"Intention" is hard to prove. Seller had every intention to keep it, but just didn't like it so ended up selling. Lots of new in box non-roster firearms in the marketplace.

Has nothing to do with a straw purchase.

                            Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.
