        Didn't know the ported Shield came out? Very cool. Probably not the best choice for CCW... good for the wife at home.

          I'm looking to swap the sights out on my Shield and possibly change to thew Apex trigger for it as well. S&W might benefit from selling a non-ported version with the same tuning work/sights. Maybe like a Shield Pro?

              it burns and hurts.

              there are ways to use different fast burning powder so it's burned all the way before it gets to the ports. . but too much work

                          I would not want ports on an already very short barrel on a CCW weapon for reasons already stated, plus the added noise. I'd rather shoot a .380 if recoil is a concern.
