    Maybe in other states that's possible but stripped lowers in Cali always come in as "rifle" or "long gun". The only way to do it currently is an 80% here.

      I think this may be true in states other than California, but it does not apply here because of the roster.

        100% legal to build a AR Pistol from a bare receiver in CA.

          Wrong and there is no law in CA that says once a rife always a rifle.

          ATF says Pistol, Rifle, Pistol OK

          No laws in CA says you cannot go Pistol, Rifle, Pistol. It has just never been challenged.

          A lower does not need to be an 80% in CA to build an AR Pistol.

            Could you please explain how currently you can buy a pistol lower without ppt or sse?

              whoa, whoa, whoa. How is this even possible? Why do Pistol lowers even command such a high price? Please explain

              In CA, isn't PISTOL -- > RIFLE --> PISTOL = Illegal SBR?

              This info doesn't seem right coming from a FFL. Can you go more in depth or explain what you mean so that we don't have thousands of people building Illegal Pistol's off the Anderson lower that they got at Turner's

                this is what I found from almost every other discussion of AR Lower's and conversion from pistol, rifle pistol

                Under Federal laws/regulations...
                Handgun -> Rifle = legal
                Handgun -> Rifle -> Handgun = legal
                Rifle -> Handgun = illegal SBR (weapon made from a Rifle)

                Under CA laws/regulations...
                Handgun -> Rifle = legal
                Handgun -> Rifle -> Handgun = illegal SBR (weapon made from a Rifle)
                Rifle - > Handgun = illegal SBR (weapon made from a Rifle)

                  One can build one off a stripped lower drosed in CA without any special considerations?

                    SSE is still perfectly legal, the rules just changed.

                    We do AR Pistols weekly.

                      In CA and Federally you cannot go Rifle --> Pistol, that creates an SBR.

                      Federally it is perfectly legal to go Pistol --> Rifle --> Pistol

                      In CA there are no laws that say you cannot go Pistol --> Rifle --> Pistol but it has been such a gray area that all the great minds we trust says don't do it unless you want to be the test case.

                          1) FFL must be an 07
                          2) Most FFLs don't know the laws
                          3) Must DROS a gun that comply with SSE laws

                            This is an interesting distinction.
                            In your opinion, is it also legal for an individual to DROS a stripped lower and build it into a pistol? Rather than have it built by an ffl?
