Just bought another GLOCK . Could not help myself. Lol. (They had a sale) How would You compare Gen4 GLOCK 26 to Gen4 GLOCK 19. For the purpose of this comparison : You can have and use any capacity magazines You want. You can not modify the guns in any way (other than sights ). Thank You.

GLOCK 26 vs GLOCK 19

I have a 27 and had a 23. It's easier to conceal a 27 of course. I found the 23 to have significantly less felt recoil and muzzle flip. I'd go 19 over 26 if you could only pick one!

One is bigger and heavier, one is smaller and lighter. The smaller can use bigger magazines, the bigger cannot use smaller magazines. The smaller can't use the bigger back straps nor can the bigger use the smaller back straps.
The G26 is (perhaps) easier to conceal but has a shorter sight radius. The G19 has a longer grip but (perhaps) better control. Most holsters, but not all, have compatibility between the two models.Last edited by Squidward; 10-13-2015, 12:43 PM.Comment

G19 for a do everything gun. Including carryComment

G26 more for backup or ccw
G19 for more HD, range, conceal we well, and some people carry for duty carry as well.Comment

While I only own a gen 3 G26 instead of a gen 4, I suggest checking it out and really thinking about it before ordering. For a range gun you'll rather have the G19, and for a CCW you'll be annoyed that the G26 is just as fat as a G19 or G17 and is a pretty heavy gun for a concealable 9mm. It is an ok gun, but there are better options in both ccw and range use rather than the G26 that seems to try to find a middle ground where it ends up sucking at everything. Just my humble opinion.Comment

As someone who owns around a.few G19s and a few G26, the G26 has a place but it does nothing a G19 doesn't do except deep concealment (and except for the extra rounds the shield and g43 own a g26 in that category)Comment

Thanks everybody. I just wanted to give it a try. So far , what I really like about the 26 is that I can carry it in a pants/shorts pocket without a problem. It is easier to shoot than my G43. I can use 10/15/17/33 round magazines if I want to. It shares spare parts with my other 9mm Glocks. I will carry it for few weeks and see if I will miss my G19 and G43Comment

My G26 gen 3 always jams when using the 33 rounders about halfway through, and sometimes jams when using the 17 rounders. The mag compatibility aspect of the G26 is a bit overstated even though they fit. None of my friends have 15 rounders for me to try. Thanks everybody. I just wanted to give it a try. Thanks for the reminder OP.
I need to hunt down a G19 Gen4. It'll go great with my G19 Gen3 and G19 Gen2. Did I mention that I like G19s? Someone sell me a Gen1 please and thanks, I'll love you long time.Comment

You are set.
-Carry 2 guns
-Warm weather carry (I iwb my a 27 in shorts and t-shirt with these https://concealablecontrol.com/ )
-Possible pocket carry
-Larger full capacity pistol for when it is convenient
The combos/applications are endless with your combo. And the mag compatibility is a huge plus.
Nice pistols. Congrats!Comment
