G26 magazine extensions keep falling off

Over the weekend I installed Pearce +0 pinky extensions on the bottom of my G26 carry mags, to replace the +3 extensions that I had legally used in another state. The +3 Pearce extensions never had any problem, but the +0 extensions I received keep popping off the bottom of the mags and I end up spilling my mag spring, follower, floor plate, and all my ammo out the bottom. This only happens while the mags are loaded, but it does happen while they are in the gun. This is my carry weapon, so obviously not a good thing.

Any advice? I could go back to the +3 extensions and block them to only accept 10 if I have to, but I'd rather run the +0 ones if I can. Running the stock flat floorplate isn't much of an option, as I have large hands and feel I need the extra surface to get a good grip. Is this a known issue, or are there other manufacturers who provide a better quality product? I find it difficult to understand how these made it to market with this problem. This happens with two extensions across two different mags. Thanks.

I never liked the +0 extensions. Tried it a few times, kept pinking my fingers. Also negated the benefit of the 26 over the 19 since they make the grip as long as a 19.

I think if you stop trying to use your pinky to grip the gun, and use it as an undermag support, you'll find you actually like the standard flush plates better, ESPECIALLY if you carry.

Hickok45 has huge hands, and he manages.

I have a G33 (same frame) on my CCW and had the same issue.

Went with the +2 extensions and used the block they came with.

Still 10rds and much better for my huge sexy beast mitts.

Plus when you get to a free state - You can unblock them and have 12rds...

Also - how bad did you mangle your magazine bodies when you took your oem plates off?

They are a bear to remove, and I can totally see that if you damaged the retaining nubs they won't hold after a few swaps.

I wondered about that too. I used a C clamp to compress the mag bodies, but was careful not to pinch the tubes or bend them out of shape. I can check again when I get home but I believe them to still be straight.

i can tell you mine look terrible after swapping from the +0 pearce back to oem.

            they look ****ed up

I know that when i swapped them to the +0 pearces, with a full mag, the plates bowed down some.

Mag bodies and retaining lugs are in fine shape. I just switched back to a +3 extension, if that holds fine as it always did I can only assume there is some flaw in the +0 design.

If your mags are fine, it has to be. I have used their +1's on Glock 27 and 43 mags and never had a problem. I have never tried the +0, the only thing I could think of were that you bent your mags in with the C-clamp and/or broke the taps off.
But since you say your mags are fine has to be the extensions, just odd that all the + 1's and 3's work fine but the zero's don't.

I have used +0 in the past and never had a problem - maybe you got some from a bad batch?

That said, I don't run G26 or G27 with extensions for carry - it completely defeats the purpose IMO. I actually just got a G27G4 that came with Pearce extensions on two of the mags, and I ordered factory base plates to replace them.

Just for info, I'm using the Magpul "Speedplates". I've installed them and not removed them and they've been holding on just fine.

Well the +3's are back on and they held fine when I cycled 12 rounds through each mag three times. I'll have to take them to the range before I trust them again for carry, though. Guess I also need to find a place to buy -3 mag blocks so that when I return from international waters I won't make any liberal heads explode.

Your little finger offers little support when shooting, nearly all of your grip is index through ring, not to mention the extensions can pinch your skin..

I don't understand buying a small gun and making it bigger instead of becoming proficient with it. If you can't shoot well with 3 fingers, you're so huge that you NEED a bigger frame so buy one.

I have the Pearce +0 extensions on my G26 and I've never had that problem. In fact they are a pain to remove if wanted to take them off. They are there so tight like the OEM floor plate.

I don't conceal carry - so they work for me.
