How much ammo do you need?

After seeing another post on magazine collections, the first thought that came to my head was how much ammo does one need? What is the minimum stock level that people keep? I have 1k each of .223, .38, .357, .40, .45 and 2k of 9mm. I reload my own ammo so I also have materials for another 3k of .223 and at least 8k for pistol. This is all for an ar15, 2 s&w .357, g19, cz ts (9&.40 barrels) and a cz97. To me this is a perfectly fine "stock level" of finished rounds and materials. I know if I only had store bought factory ammo I would never be close to the amounts I have now. What do you have?

As much as you'll need ammo, make sure you stock up on magazines too...

Two schools of thought for the Doomsday scenario.
1.) Stock up and maintain a fortified position. This is of course, keeping in mind that fortified positions are made to be overrun.
2.) Keep a portable "starter kit" of guns and ammo that are transportable and shoot someone else' ammo.

Barring the end of the world scenario where you will have to fight for everything, stock up as much as the foundation of your shop will hold.
