Funny, you should mention that as I was thinking the same thing. However, I have learned to put on my "CalGuns Post Translator Glasses" as they help immensely with spelling, punctuation and other various grammatical errors. Sadly, as soon as you mention something like this, you're accused of being some kind of "grammar police". Really? This, of course, coming from the same people that complain that you misunderstood their misspelled, improperly punctuated, "iPad Autocorrected" posts that make no sense to anyone, poster included.

Whew, now that I'm clearly over that....


Overrated: Anything Colt, HK, Kimber or Sig Sauer related. Not saying they aren't good. Simply and ridiculously over-priced.

Underrated: AR's that don't have a dust cover or forward assist.

My most under rated handguns are my Sigma and my Hi Point.

My most overrated would be my Glock, AR pistol, AK pistol and MAC clones.

I think the most underrated is the Ruger SR9c. Mine has kept up with my G19 and P89. It's a good workhorse and has better looks than the Glocks I think. I've heard problems about light primer strikes, but I've never had that issue, my gun has handled flawlessly.

while the most overrated would be Taurus revolvers. All my buddies have them and love them, but I don't know I just can't seem to understand why, trigger has felt gritty to me, more so than my Rugers! Among other issues, but still this is just IMHO.

Underrated: kahrs. I used to steer away from them too, "too expensive and people online say their trigger is a PITA to get used to". Then I shot one. Then I bought one... Then two more. They do cost more than a glock, xd, or shield, but nowhere near most 1911s... And the trigger is great in my opinion. Long but silky smooth and within a couple mags anyone with any skill or talent ought to be shooting proficiently.

How bout one rated just right( actually maybe a touch overrated still)? The ruger lc9! Mine is my EDC and while i trust it to shoot when/where I aim it, there's a special place in hell for the designer of that trigger!

Overrated: Semi Automatics
Underrated: Revolvers

Seriously. Glocks are a great tool. My own experience with them is that they go bang everytime I squeeze the trigger and as long as I do my part, I can hit the target. But my favorite shooter is the S&W model 10. The best feeling .38 for me. I have quite a few favorites, but if I had to give up everything but one handgun, it would be the model 10.

Interesting, not one post has yet to say a Beretta M9/92FS is overated. As awesome as my M9 is I was blown away how my $399.00 C&R Walther P1/P38 is as accurate and reliable as my Beretta M9...

In my experience the most underated pistol I have ever shot is a Hi Point in 9mm. Butt ugly but the Hi Point just worked.. I would buy one...

Most overated pistol I have shot was a tricked out Kimber 1911. very accurate but would have cycling issues. I would never buy one...

I try my best as I'm sure most do but today with our voice to text it's easy to have something autocorrected or totally misinterpreted and of course we've kind of become lazy with exact proper English written conversations. still I get a lot of laughs out of Calguns with or without the mistakes and sometimes because of them.

(as a strange side note: I've noticed my most recent phone's voice to text is worse with mistakes than my very first generation of smartphone that had voice to text.)

Underrated: J frame snubbies. People say they hurt to shoot, but I enjoy taking mine to the range. I've yet to feel the need to add another pocket gun; my 642 rides in my pocket anytime I'm wearing pants around the house.

Overrated: I cannot for the life of me figure out why someone would drop $3,000 on one 1911.
