A new one that has the two tone and round hammer would run you about $1300 new if you could find one. 500-1000 rounds is nothing, that thing is practically new and a great pistol.

As for use, mine has been very reliable. Its grip are thin like the 1911 but still a little thicker due to its double stacked magazine.

Many people complain about its magazine disconnect which u can remove to make the trigger smoother.

if u can get your hands on one, get one. The price is a little steep compared to other 9mm pistols in its price range (92fs, CZ75 - goes for about $5-600). A new BHP is around $8-900.
The MKIII with the epoxy finish is around $8-900 new. One like that was a lot more new and holds its value.

      Can't really compare it to a 92fs or a CZ, it's closer to a 1911 than any DA 9mm.

OP, if you are interested in this firearm, I'd advise you to purchase it. It's off roster and you don't see many in the used firearm marketplace, mainly because folks who own them don't want to give them up. I have a MK III Hi-Power and I am very happy with it. It's accurate, reliable, and even the stock plastic grips seem to fit every hand it's put into. Everyone who tries mine enjoys shooting it and seems to shoot it well. After my wife tried it she declared that it was "hers" (like everything I own isn't hers already) and it's one of the few semi-auto pistols she genuinely enjoys shooting.

Price? Hard to say what you should pay for it. A new BHP runs over a grand so I'd be looking around $800 for the hard chrome version.

          Good luck!

First off, this is a great gun that is one of the guns I have always wanted to own.

First off, this is a great gun that is one of the guns I have always wanted to own.

However, I haven't bought one because they tend to be, in my opinion, overpriced compared with the plethora of other options.

That said, he came to you to sell it, putting you in the drivers seat.

I would be a buyer at $550 to $650, based on my budget and level of enthusiasm for this pistol. This is also about what he would get from a dealer.

Never mind the so called market value.

The true value of anything is always the price where the two parties actually exchange cash for product.

BUY IT! Not as common as a 1911 and harder to find gunsmiths who work on them, but for those that have smaller hands it fits perfect.

We agreed on $700. It has two magazines with it, but they are standard capacity, so I will have to find a couple ten rounders.

If you can find them, the Mec-gars with the "mousetrap" spring in the back are terrific. If you can find them.
