Not 100% but I've seen both at the same time and there's no difference visible to the naked eye without measuring device... I believe they just made a barrel with a shallower chamber and put a spacer in the mags to make it run the 380...

.380 rim is .374", 9mm rim is .392". When reloading you need a different shellplate. I can't imagine you could just switch barrels...

That is what I thought. I can imaging using the 9mm slide for .380, but not the other way around.

I agree, I've known people to shoot 380 in a 9mm gun by mistake and didn't have any problems... But who is to say the lc380ca slide isn't the old leftover lc9 slide to begin with? Have to measure the two side by side to determine differences.

Well, the manual shows the only differences in the part list as the slide, barrel, magazine, outer and inner recoil spring, and shows the frame as the same for both.

I've dome some 'research' on the interwebs with much discussion about the possibilities but no one who has actually done the swap even to see if they even fit let alone fire.

Since there are quite a few unauthorized or semi unauthorized swaps such as the HK USP 40 compact -> 357 sig that work I'd be interested to see if this is indeed possible.
