Just a bad round probably, even if not a reload it still happens. Had this occur last month with a 7.62 round and it did some damage to the gun. Contacted the ammo company and they reimbursed me.

The good thing is (if there is ever a good thing with a blown case) you had this happen in a Sig P226. Had this happened with a plastic framed gun, you would have probably ended up with a cracked frame and a lost gun with no warranty protection.

I've heard of folks who've had KB's like yours where the magazine blows out, their hands get stung but because it happened in a Beretta, Sig, CZ or other metal framed gun, the gun ended up no worse for wear and they kept on shooting. Not the smartest thing to do but they didn't know any better.

Glad I didn't have it in the FNS I'm selling. Hahahha.
