I have the same requirements as the OP but not his budget.

If you looked closely, the rest of the money was spent on reloading equipment and supplies and still comes in well under budget.

There is no need to waste money on anything fancy and the only work that needs to be done to a Springer 9 can be done with a hammer, punch, wooden dowel, and a set of calipers.

I speak only from experience, which obviously varies per person asked.

My CZ-SP01, all steel frame, has been the most reliable and ACCURATE 9mm hand gun I've ever owned... and SHOT (and I've shot many guns that I don't own). The purchasing price was just about $700, I don't remember exactly. What a fricken deal that was. I've since suped it up with custom jobs, and unless there is a catastrophic failure (which I've never heard of from CZ handguns.... EVER), I will never get rid of this.

A note of warning. I had to wait 8 months to receive it. However, it was well worth the wait.

CZ SP01 or TS , then send to CZ customs have them install the accu bushing for around 350 in either gun. The CZ tactical sport is a great gun out of the box for around $1100-1200 Or you can buy a 1911 roster gun and build up.

With that budget I would be looking for a Smith & Wesson 952.

If you can find one here then check it out. It is a Performance Center gun and it will be a great shooter.
