Which .22 conversion would you recomend?

For a springfield full size 1911. All I want is the cheapest conversion that has adjustable 3-dot sights and is reliable.

I have a Kimber conversion that is accurate but not very reliable. I must say that I have only shot maybe 400 rounds with it on a Charles Daily frame. From what I have heard is they like hot loads.

I have a Wilson kit to go with my Kimber 1911. Keep in mind that you might have to do some fitting just like you would with any slide and frame. My kit it just a little too tight for the frame but I'm not going to fit it. I might be buying a high end 1911 soon and I want to fit it to that frame. That being said I can get the thing to shoot most of the time (I just have to cycle the rounds by hand) and it is super accurate. I hear Wilson just uses a Ciener kit and puts their name on it but I would stay away from buying from Ciener if possible. They have a really bad reputation as far as customer service is concerned. If the same kit comes from Wilson you will have great service if there is any problem. I think most of the .22 conversion kits work pretty well as long as they are fitted to the frame properly.

hmm, I've never heard of Wilson making a kit.. Just proof you do learn something new every day.

I have a kimber kit that I love. I've two. One was the old style with the bull barrel and no bushing which was a little hard to take apart, and now I've got the new style with the barrel bushing. At first they both functioned flawlessly but not so anymore. The old one I gave to a close friend of mine for his birthday and he loves it. The new one I just started to have trouble with getting it to run, but that's after 1000+ rounds without a cleaning. I bought it to run the cheap Federal ammo that I have stocked up, so I can save the good CCI for my smith41. I think if I just clean the kimber kit it will run good again. It's a tight fit to my kimber 1911 frame and I have a feeling that the old gunk from being fired has just built up to the point it's slowing the slide.

Try to keep an eye out for a used one, they float around from time to time, that'd probably be your cheapest rout. Expecially if you find a guy selling one who's not aware that kimber upped their prices in the last couple years.

I like the Colt conversion with the floating chamber for added recoil

              Ciener kit for 1911

I have a Ciener kit for the 1911 and it is very good. It works best with Federal Automatch ammo. It is the version with adjustable target sights and I have found it to be plenty accurate. I paid $175 for it used, and it was a good investment.

Ciener's stuff is good. Just buy it from Midwayusa.com and they will deal with any customer service issues, if any arise.

I have both a Ciener AR-15 conversion kit and the 1911 conversion kit and they both work great. They both save you a ton of $ if you like to shoot a lot.

Marvel Unit 1. Doesn't have 3 dot sights, but they are adjustable. I have two of them.

Sure go ahead and buy from him if you want to put money in the pocket of someone that is bad for the shooting hobby.
