I shot them plenty. The one in the photo is my most current one. Just wondering where Hi Power stands today. Lately most talk is about off roster plastic stuff.

The fact that they get snatched up pretty fast here in the marketplace is telling.

As far as "where they are at" usage wise? They have moved into "range toy/collectible" status. Only a few old timers still CCW them anymore, and no cop carries them. Not because they don't do the job, but there are more practical options out there.

A CZ75 is maybe 80% of what a BHP is at nearly half the cost.

That extra 20% though is worth having if you can afford it. I'd have one already if I could buy one.

The BHP is the one firearm I own that everyone - new shooter or expert, male or female, big hands or small, young or old - shoots well. Any design that has remained in production for 80 years is worthwhile. It's a staple for any collector to own and shoot and with it's long military history there are many variations out there to explore.

Out of 10 pistols I have that include Glock, Sig, CZ and Les Baer amongst others my BHP is #1.

I love the gun. I found my friends hp was a better shooter then my p226. It did require more attention as my hand seemed to wand to wander upwards too far and it kept biting me. I have a high hold. It required me to change the hold that works for the rest of my handguns. It is an awesome gun. Just not set up for a "normal" more modern two hand hold. Ymmv

mind sharing where and/or how you got this fine looking pistol?
                thanks.

So how is the trigger on the BHP out of the box? Do many people modify to improve any gritty, heavy pull...or is it fantastic from the get go?

As a future hi power owner to be, any difference between new and old production? They look beautiful.

The NIB trigger is juuust a bit heavy at approx. 7.5 pounds, but there are ways to reduce that. However, when I want to work on my trigger pull, I get my stock HP out for some target time. If I can master a stock HP trigger, I can master any trigger.

Sights. My aging eyes don't help but as mentioned favorite to shoot. Oh and a bigger safety.

The trigger pull on Hi Powers are gritty because of the magazine safety. If you remove it, the trigger pull is way better.

$$$$$ there out there. Thought about milling my slide for better front. Then needs new bluing. Or maybe better safety front strap checkering ect. One day maybe. The wait would months/year would kill that idea.
